    CDR for dummies

Agreed Ian that there will possibly be some variation in the civvy vs mil-spec CDR - depends on what a previous mechanic/owner/hacker has done to said vehicle. 'Tanner'

Possible to get a military hummer for 10 grand?

Go & buy the tub that is selling on Fleecepay in NC right now... then add a frame, suspension, and all the other parts needed, mix thoroughly, add in anywhere from $15k to $40k additional in parts, and VOILA! Or - buy this clone HMMWV from Dong Feng...

    CDR for dummies

There's info here as well regarding the 'Tuna Can' - CDR\PCV - what’s it all about, Alfalfa? - Diesel Place Some guys wash it out w/ soap & water, others with gasoline; my understanding is that it has a rubber or synthetic diaphragm inside... NAPA p/n: '2-9445' - or maybe listed as 'CRB...

Possible to get a military hummer for 10 grand?

Good luck getting it insured and getting it registered - it will be a pain in the hind quarters... In NC, you'd most likely have to have it setup with safety equipment req'd by DOT/NHTSA & then it would still be tough to slide it past the DMV inspectors; they aren't exactly stupid as to what...

    6.2 locked up

Chuck - I'm just going from memory on the manual trans flywheel that I bolted to my 6.2; there was nothing on 'engine block' side of flywheel to interfere with it rotating... OP will find out what's wrong in a day or so - 'Tanner'

    Looking for a work truck

The 6.2 is a decent motor - when used within it's design limits. It 'redlines' at the fuel-pumps' governed max of roughly 3600 rpm, torque peak (IIRC) is 'all in' by 1800rpm & peak combo of hp & torque (usable max power) tops out at @ 2800rpm; beyond that, you're just wasting fuel... 'Tanner'

    6.2 locked up

hmmm... there * shouldn't * be anything on flywheel that contact block; wonder if flywheel to crank bolts are too long? Agree that cylinder(s) could be flooded with water/fuel & you're trying to compress liquid. 'Tanner'

    mkt questions

Stampy - the max towed-load rating on a 1009 from what info I've seen is 3,000 lbs. - and with that short wheelbase, it could get quite interesting a a panic stop situation or if towing in windy conditions... a 1009 wouldn't be my choice of tow vehicle for that kind of load - 'Tanner'

    Baby MRAP article

The jammers don't work as well as you'd like to think... and not to be a sad-sack, but a vast majority of equipment hits the field about 50% operational - I've been supporting the def ind for a number of years now & hear the contractors complain about the equipment going over is...

Fined for running WMO (not me)

You've been getting taxed this way for years... article I read years ago mentioned something about there being over 150 taxes levied on a loaf of bread by the time you buy it at the store. 'Tanner'

CDR valves - Whos got em?

You could contact the company & confirm, but it clearly says 'CDR Valve' a.k.a., 'Tuna Can', and that it is for 6.2's 1988-1992 & 6.5 1992-2002 - Hmm.... also says to replace it a 30k mile intervals, like you would a PCV valve... 'Tanner'
