Ahhh! I see the Garbee 'cook-stove' in the background of the first photo - is that a portion of Cabell in the left of the second photo?
For the record, slave cables are used when you don't have a good downhill run to combat start/roll-start a vehicle... or when you don't have 8-10 Privates to...
FWIW - Diesel is still cheaper per oz than a 20 bottle of Coca Cola - but trucks don't run on Coke, do they, so this comparison is no better than a wet flintlock...?
Jury is still deciding if I'll get to make the virgin run with ECC this year...

No sir - it's a civilian 2 door cab GMC 3500 truck - '89-up body style, not the CUCV style cab...
Cabell & I were discussing the merits of keeping the diff under the truck for ease of hauling the carcass away after removing the 6.2 - Was curious to know if diff was worth $100 to anyone, thus...
Growler isn't using any Mutt suspension parts - the Growler uses custom tubular A-arms with coilover shocks, some with adjustable air bag / air shock suspension. Different body tub than Mutt, turbo diesel engine, etc. Not a Mutt.
Growler is, however, offering new Mutt tubs with the rest of the...
Kinda reminds me of the stories of the Abrams M1... something about having to change the prototypes' air filter every few miles due to silt? Or the turrets that could be blown off with an RPG due to 'design issues'. Did have a tank driver tell me that 47 rotations CCW would unscrew the turret -...
From Raleigh News & Fishwrap - Thursday 01/24...
Osprey's assault vehicles can't haul ammo -
Aircraft go to Iraq without them
Joseph Neff, Staff Writer
When the Marines shipped their V-22 Osprey aircraft to Iraq last year, they had to leave behind the assault vehicles and mobile mortar system...
It's a good diff, we've been driving the truck, but I don't need it for the M37/6.2 swap, so I figured I'd look to cash it before scrapping it -

It's a 2wd truck, I bought it for the 6.2 engine & had planned to scrap the rest of the truck...
It's the 89-up body style truck, close to 200k on chassis - had replacement 6.2 installed - rots o'rust in bed & rockers, mechanicals are good, so I'm putting the trans up for sale & was considering...
Okay, so what value is there in a 1989 GMC 3500 rear diff from my parts truck?
I'm looking to yerk the 6.2 out this weekend & sell the TH400 trans & possibly the diff - or just let the rolling hulk disappear from the driveway when the heart of the truck is removed... :)

Force Protection's MRAP's have actually had 1-2 more casualties that haven't been greatly reported, but it is granted that their vehicles have protected many, many troops!

As I understand it, Protected Vehicles was indebted to numerous suppliers, my old company included, and rival mfg across town having hit PVI with a lawsuit didn't help financial matters either. Rumor mill says that PVI had a group of investors in recently for discussion about a much-needed...
Protected Vehicles layoffs to be permanent?
From article:
"Protected Vehicles Inc. has told its employees that its closing is permanent and it is “unable to continue production operations.” "

Heard rumor...
That's what I mean, sir! Since I am a civilian, I don't know the correct name for that which I tried to describe... the military turned me down.... they mumbled something about my being disrespectful to authority types -

Even though my vote doesn't count, I like the data plate idea...
Another option would be to have a logo that looks like the name logo on a uniform - stitching around the edges -
"Tanner"

Bjorn beat me to the answer! You can use the cable clamp mentioned on the connector rear-end, or put an adaptor & heat-shrink boot the cable, or ... (various options)
