    DOT 5 brake fluid questions

FWIW. If you can remove most of the crud at the bottom and the dirty brake fluid from your MC before you start adding new fluid you'll need to purge less. A basting syringe from a dollar store worked well for me.

    Speedo Gear my CUCV

For the gear only, try this part number: GM 1362195. Fleabay has them for $15, YMMV.

CUCV alternators - I'm still confused

Another option for your alternator needs is member Tow4. He sells rebuild kits and may be able to find a rotor, may be worth a PM. Here is a link to his ad in the classifieds: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?146702-Delco-Alternator-Rebuild-kits-for-alternator-p-n-1105500

According to the TM-10 a stock M1009 is rated for towing 1200 lbs with 100 lbs tongue weight. As mentioned before, upgrading your receiver hitch will allow you to tow more weight safely.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2016 - August VOTE HERE!

For entertainment purposes I'll share some highlights of my '09s work log. Exterior Behr Marquee, front cab DIY bed liner, cargo area Rustoluem rattle can. There is phrase which is repeated in the CUCV forum: "If it's electrical clean it, if it's rubber replace it". So... cleaned the...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2016 - August VOTE HERE!

Agreed Robo McDuff, so here it is: One reason I like my truck... It gave me an excuse to learn how to weld. The truck had a lot of rot when I purchased it. I started on the passenger side and then moved over to the driver’s side, I could tell there was some improvement in my abilities...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

For me, the two piece vent seal from 1aauto fit well on the passenger side. It opens and closes fine. Didn't need the drivers side. X2 on the great looking M1007, great work.
