M35A2 EUC approval- 25 days and counting... At least it's been sent to Battle Creek. I was notified today of the revisions needed for the M105 trailers I bought last Thursday. Man that's MUCH faster than the truck's EUC:!: At this rate, I'll have the EUC for the trailers and nothing to pull them...
I don't know what year my Deuce was made. There's something about it being vended by General August 1985. Is that the right year? It sure looks older than that.
The only numbers I can find on the auction website info are as follows:
DTID:W24MBP83380002A (is that the VIN?)
Manf: U S ARMY TANK...
My wife of 26 years wants me to paint the Deuce to promote awareness for the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). I think a Cheetah paint scheme on a Deuce would be pretty cool! I'd like to get a desert tan M35A2 or A3 to do it though.

Hey Frank!
Guess what I found bedind the passenger seat in the truck? Yep- the missing door handle. I'll be glad to return yours if I can get your address again. Shoot me an e-mail to cruisair@hotmail.com
Well boys and girls, my EUC application has been sent to Battle Creek. Now how long will I have to wait?
Went out to the Redstone Arsenal disposal yard and started my Deuce. I let her (him?) run for 20 minutes. Shifted the gears. Tried to find reverse. No luck so I guess I'll read the manual...
How difficult are these to install? I only have a driveway to work on and the neighbors probably don't want a 2.5 ton truck sitting there in pieces for weeks on end. I have a floor jack, bottle jack, jack stands, and very little help if that helps answer my q.
As I said, my wife who's a Registered Nurse already has me on that path (23 lbs so far), so eventually that will work out. Question is, what about the here and now? I would really like to enjoy my Deuce ALL the time instead of waiting a year or two (three?).
I have the spring seat. Where...
I'll be honest. My hideous great 50year old belly rubs on the M35A2 steering wheel. Are there any adjustments that can be made to the steering column and/ or the driver's seat?
The only thing I can think of is to temporarily install a smaller diameter steering wheel and air assisted...
So what happens to my Deuce during the 45 days? It just sits there without anyone starting it every few days, fuel going bad, various varmints making a home in it? Sheesh...
I plan on bidding on a few more (I already have the disease see?), but don't like the idea of them sitting day after...
Omega 231- have a look here for convention info. Let me know if you decide to drive over. I'd like to see your Deuce:-D

Hey Omega 231!
Let's get together sometime and scare the squirrels and neighbors!
Door handle is "handled" thanks to wiggall. Thanks for the kind offer.
My e-mail is cruisair@hotmail.com
Are you going to the Big Truck Convention here this weekend??
Nope. Still in the works. I was thinking I wouldn't get an invoice until the EUC cleared, but apparently I was wrong.
How long have you been waiting for your SF97s?
Okay- so I get the invoice today and it asks for the year of manufacture on the SF97 form. I can't find ANYTHING on the year except it was in the hands of AM General in 1985. So does that mean it's a 1985 M35A2?
Also, what does the VIN look like?
I'm so confused...
Wiggall! Yes! Just to make sure I attached a picture so you can see what's missing.
e-mail me at cruisair@hotmail.com so we can swap addresses and payment method.
Best Regards,
DDave
p.s EUC FAXed Friday. Waiting game has started (sigh).
