Air to transfer
As I understand it, if there is no air (pressure) going to the transfer case sprag clutch cylinder, the clutch is between forward and reverse. I checked this on our H2O truck by jacking up one front wheel and trying it with and without air and with the shifter in forward and...

Boots
Thanks for the feedback, I got two boots from Saturn, one looks older and USA, the other newer and Off-shore. I think I agree with Cranetruck, and will change-out the boot and seal with RTV. But if I was doing what Joe does, it would make sense to use the one piece non-zipper boots. By...
Anyone know anything about a flat deck carrier body for use with the M812A1 bridge truck? Just found references to this while running a search on Google. This would work great on the new truck, but for the over-width problem. Will have to research the requirements in NH for use of an...
heater
The heater in our 5 ton water truck which is I think the same as an M35 uses a sheet metal 90 that is flattened sort of on the inlet of the blower to miss the side panel. Have seen pictures of this same thing on other M35s.
Spacer
Yes, you can see where the spacer is on the front hub in the side view picture. These are needed so that the really deep dish 10x20 wheels used with the 1400x20 tires can clear the front tie-rod ends of the steering. The deep dish wheels are needed on the rear so the duels clear each...
Won a new truck on e-bay on 11-15-06. Have not even seen it yet, but I don't think it's a bad deal. M812A1 bridge retriever truck with brand new drop-side bed and spare set of tires. Problem is/was distance, it's in Down East Maine over 12 hours from central NH. Trying to arrange trucking...
Map for 5 ton
The turbo I just got has the folloeing #'s:
Serial # 4LE-354/lo667-121
Part # 1094518 4
Made by Schwitzer of Indianapolis
Thanks for any help you can give.
Any suggestions for suppliers who sell the better quality zipper type axle boots for the 5 tons? Need at least 1 for our H2O truck on the left side. Really don't want to do a full tear down of the front end, so we will try a zipper type. Would rather pay more money for a quality part than...
Measured H2O truck today, and the rears are 56" apart as others have stated. The axles are 59-60" at the brake backing plate flange, and appear to be the same as other 5 tons. The torque rods are 25" long and all six are the same. The 56" axle spacing also means that the drive shaft between...
See the two pictures in the photo gallery. We installed the rear wheels using the deep dish bridge truck wheels after we turned the hubs. Original tires are overloaded with a tank of water, but we don't run on the road full.
