This is in CA, near San Jose, right? I think I read about it. I must ask, what is the thing in picture 9? It appears to be a missle launching device, with something huge on top of it?
Charles,
Just echoing the comments of others, your work is amazing! Are you in this line of work professionally? The level of detail you show in your models is often lacking in other venues such as movies and TV shows, I think you could do well there!
John,
I'm often down in your neck of the woods, close to Winchester. I have some friends down there, sounds like lots of fun!
I was wondering if you lowered the PSI on the tires before starting out, and if not, can anyone comment on this and the effect it has?
Guys, thanks for advice. I'm thinking you're right that a civilian trailer would be the best way to go. I'm talking to a member about a tri-axle that might do the trick. Thanks again guys!
So I'm thinking about buying a dozer early next spring, nothing too large, just something to clear some more of the brush covered land I own. I would love to be able to pull it with or loaded it into the M814.
First, did the military make any trailers large enough to handle equipment like...
General question about arctic fuel burning kits. What were they rated down to in F? I saw -25F somewhere, but that might have been for the coolant heaters, I don't see how that's even remotely possible given the ones I've used, but the fuel burning ones might be better for even more, right?
Wow, you're going to powder coat all the body panels? We have a huge powder coating system here where I work, I understand it to be one of the largest on the continent, but alas they won't let me run car parts through it...
Crane nailed it, right now I just have the heaters themselves, no control boxes :-(
The boxes aren't too hard to locate, I have a few for future projects sitting around.
Jesusgatos,
Those are some of my coolant heaters, if you want one just PM me, I'll give you a much better deal than the ebay price, my wife would like them out of the closet :-)
Scanner, good to have you here. I make it over to your nice country once every year for CeBit in Hannover. Beautiful place.
I like the looks of the little car/tug/tractor/truck thing. Not sure what it is, but the tires look wheels and tires look familar. :-D
In Ohio, the process looks like this:
1. Get Bill of Sale from GovLiquidation
2. Get Temp Tags from BMV with Bill of Sale
3. Bring truck to BMV on temp tags
4. BMV requires $3 to "inspect" truck
- this has never been more than climbing into the truck, looking at the data plate number, and...
I have a hill near my house. There's a light at the bottom, and I would say it's a 6-7% grade. If I have to start from a stop in the M814, I won't be able to shift out of 3rd until I finish the hill. The change between 3rd and 4th for me are just too great.
