    Valves rattling on a 6.2?

Cucv engines make all kinds of funny noises...most all related to the compression ignition of the fuel. Mechanical noises will usually manifest themselves in a skip or a smoke or a catastrophic failure.

    Axel ID

CUCV M1008s have drum brakes on rear. Calipers look kind of "Chryslerish read Dodge" to me. But at my age the memory provides slow recall and fuzzy images.

Is the transfer case from a M342 the same as an M35?

M35 would have a sprag type case, and M342 would have the same, most likely. However all of them are subject to having been updated with air shift xfer cases. However, I just looked in My Ord 9 SNL G742 and found Transfer double sprag T-136-1, Transfer single sprag T-136, Transfer T-136-3...

    Question about fixing the tachometer

It the new tach a direct replacement? Some tachs run in opposite directions, due to engine rotation. Thinking of GM Diesels for example... There is a mil spec tach on Ebay right now from Boyce Equipment, but if you look at it you can see that it is a 0-6000 rpm... most of our stuff is...

    NEW GUY QUESTION

Yup, I had to turn down the volume as it was ringing in my ears. While building the mud bogger, why not just put the air shift nose on the xfer case and mechanically lock it in the engaged position for racing and unlock it moving around off course? Could be done really easily with a Morse...

    Checking Transmission Oil/Fluid Level

Second is synchro in M37B1 and the Canadian Models I believe, too. If you can reach the oil with your finger in the hole, there is plenty, it expands as it gets warm... make sure your vents are cleaned... Hard shifting can sometimes be attributed to rust and wear in the top cover...
