What's the biggest overdrive gear you could fit in the transmission?
I was just thinking of different ways to achieve a little greater top end speed without major, irreversible changes to the truck.
Second question: What kind of top speed increase do you think could be made with a larger...
Well, I rehabbed one of the air motors today.
I just used the old gasket to lay out a pattern for the new one in pencil and cut it out with an exacto-knife.
They had the material at O'Reilly's along with a couple of O-rings that fit pretty good. The O-rings were #219 out of a little red box...
Barrman: Actually, no they weren't the metal ones. They were the replacement plastic ones.
This was an REO that went through alot of the fleet upgrades. It had and LDT-465-1D engine in it. But it did still have the older REO style fenders that extend farther into the engine compartment...
I was going to replace the wipers on my whistler with the wipers from my REO parts truck today, but discovered that one of the REO wiper motors was completely seized up.
Took it apart, but had to cut one of the o-rings to get the piston out. It's also going to need another gasket or two.
What...
the bouey(sp?) buddy cup holder fits perfectly on one of those extra holes in the dash. number six screw, I think. Absolutely perfect fit.
texrdnec's got the same setup.
It's not the perfect positioning (you have to reach across the shifter to use it) but it's way, way better than nothing...
requires 48 HP at 540 RPM.
Is that 540 RPM of the PTO shaft or 540 RPM of the engine?
If the former, what speed does 540 RPM of the PTO shaft (transfer case in low) translate to for RPM of the engine?
Oh yeah. I won a Mep-002a (5kW) made by Onan out of fort polk last week.
This is half an intellectual exercise and half a "backup plan" scenario.
The deuce makes 130hp. So you could reasonably expect to make 60kW with that engine assuming the physical limitations of size, bracket strength...
I just had a wild hair...
Considering that some people have successfully mounted a second alternator (12V) on a bracket for vehicles accessories in their deuces... why not put an alternator that can handle some serious amps?
What's the most amount of power you could reasonably expect to...
Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to know how to rebuild the alternator, too. And have spare electronics handy...
As far as burning wmo or wvo in a generator... I dunno. I've been told that burning waste veggie oil in a diesel engine is a "bad idea" because burned vegetable oil tends to act...
