pulling a disc. no big deal

my 108 pulling a cultivator. I had the depth set at max and it would dig pretty good (clay). I never used it very often for very long so I have no ideas on long term affect...
I was lucky this broke in the same town I work in and not at my property that is 1/2 hour from my house away from town. Now I can stop and check things and work on it after work without having to make that special trip.
The clutch and gear box were apart before. bearings cost almost 500 just...
here is a pic of the clutch a par. its a "twin disc"
here is the new disc. when comparing with the old disc I can see that half the teeth were wore off. Probably the reason they broke.
I am waiting for the bearings that go in the gear box, then I can put it all back together and into the hoe.
I bought this last week. It is solid all over, but a lot of surface rust in the bed. Looks like a homemade tailgate fabed in.
If anyone has original tongue parts I would be interested in them.
my drag link is leaking out the vent hole. I have power turning to the left, but when turning to the right air comes out of the rear vent hole, and no power? Anyone have a tm or any other info I may need to repair this?
my pto engagement lever was stuck in my truck when I got it. I had to get underneath and move it with a pry bar. After I moved it a few times I was able to use it normally
I had time this afternoon to do a search and while I was reading through the different threads on the subject I learned the location of the diode near the fire wall. When I went out to the truck to look at it I saw the broken wire. I also learned how to adjust the idle and a few other things.
ok, thanks for the help guys. I fixed it. it was what looks like a fusable link that coroded apart at the crimp connector when it was replaced before. I twisted the wires together and now my gen 2 light comes on. i will solder them together when I get home.
thanks again!!
ok, the 24v fuse in the box looks intact.
the fusible link looks and feels intact at the alternator.
the gen 2 bulb does not come on when I turn the ignition on. This must be the problem. are the bulbs 24 volt???
where is the diode and relay on the truck? I am assuming I can check voltage...
We put a voltage meter on the bat. Only 12.3v not charging.. the mechanic said it was not charging at the alternator. And the exciter wire shoows 12 volts.
What else should I be checking?
the pass side alternator is not charging on my M1008. So we took it off and bench tested it and it worked fine. Put it back on the truck and it did not work. Checked the exciter wire and it was fine. any ideas?
both alternators were rebuilt a couple years ago. I havnt had any problems with them.
it looks like a fiber gear. I should have the clutch pulled off tomorrow and then I will know more. I cant see the other side of the clutch. I wonder if I can take it apart and put a new gear in.
