Impressive, it looks like it should have been a stock accessory to a Deuce!
Let me know if you start making those.
Thank you for sharing this mod.

Sorry to hear about your truck, but Glendale is very strange and arbitrary on zoning restrictions, in the front or the back yard. Parking on the street, you are really on their turf. The actual or registered weight of the truck does not matter at all. The "look of it" to the zoning inspector is...
There is absolutely no reason why you could not if you wanted to, make a piggy-back, bolt on hydro assist type steering for your Deuce. I saw several old, medium duty Ford F600-F800 type trucks, updated by some third party vendor with a single and one with a double ended ram. All such upgrades...
Great and practical mods, this truck is really getting some of the much talked about improvements actually done. Congrats on the hydro steering, just as a possible additional item on your second from last picture, there is, or looks like that, spot where the front drive-shaft ujoint is close to...
Usualy, a municipality can regulate street parking within it's jurisdiction, based onthe state's MVD defenition of that vehicle's registration, and they normaly do no reinterpret( reinvent their own defenition diferent from one alredy made by the state MVD). In Most steate antique or Historic...
What a great way to make a hands on application for a younger unaware generation, they will develop their newly learned skills into other applications later in their life. This is great, thank you for posing this.

Nice useful additions and for most part does not detract from the intended original design.
The top type is a matter of personal preference, and everyone has their own opinion on that.
Thank you for posting your build.

All that bent metal and wear shavings point to at least two things: First, the hydraulic system worked well up until the final failure, ( bent parts, extended wheel cylinder cup) and a preexisting condition, misadjustment, possibly a slight leak, may be a missing return spring.
You got lucky...
Great step by step, and one of the fastest builds in one big pass so far. Your solutions and upgrades seem well thought out, use available parts, and most will apply to a Deuce in any combination.
The disc breaks are the ones that would be interesting to see the feel-able improvement in use...
Well, besides the price issue, between the two trucks, there is the service and maintenance concern.
A2 is non electronic and is simple to maintain and even do major repairs with simple hand tools, and a good manual, plus parts are more available and much cheaper. A3 is updated with newer parts...
jollyroger, Oliver Tractors in the 50's and 60's used a modified LDS Engine, and there are many interchangeable parts still available for those tractors. Also, there is a tractor racing club that exclusively races Olivers, with a Rossamaster injection pump, even currently.
Hope this helps.

wanderingwilliys, that is really interesting and refreshing that you want to keep the multifuel, and up the output of it, that would be a great upgrade, parts and all. Please take pictures as you do it, some really good ideas will come out of that build.
Thanks.

bottleworks, that is a great deal, what other parts you will need to make it work with a Deuce ?
Is the transfer going to have to be moved back ?
Please keep posting as it develops.
Thanks,
ALFA2
This really looks like it is useful and not permanent, so it can be moved from one truck to another, depending on the need.
Does any one still makes those ?
Thanks.
