I'm right there with you! It might be a bit more of a 'struggle' for folks in our situation, but
I am finding that where there's a will... there's a way.

When I experienced a similar problem... the main ground was indeed the reason!
The area around the connection was encrusted with dirt. I cleaned everything,
applied dielectric grease as needed and tightened things up. No problems since.

The more 'unconventional' (or less expected) things you can add to shutting down a critical system,
the less likely it would be for the 'bad guys' to succeed in getting away with the MV!
It would at least frustrate them and slow them down. ;-)

Today I finally busted free all but three of my 'outside' wheel lug nuts! It's taken me quite a few hours
(on and off) over the past four plus weeks to make progress on these rusted buggers!!
I have to think I might know how you're feeling...
