Thank you for the offer Gringeltaube,
I don't know if I could cut and past the info from olive drab.com
I will see what I can do. Other wise I will be a bit making my notes to enter to post or pm.
Thank you Warthog again for the great link. Was more or less what I was looking for.
Great tips...
Thanks Crusty,
The intent of the thread was to get a list of the different models of multi fuel engines and the years as to which they were made. Also their corresponding specs.
I was also looking to see if there was a way to identify if the engine was from a five ton.
As stated in the original...
Thanks for all the info.
The lead to olive drab was excellent!
I still don't get how the LDS-465 in the 5 ton had 50 more horse power and how you can tell the difference from that beast to an average LDS-465?
Wish i had the ability to make a spread sheet to post with all the models and specs t...
I am trying to find a list of the corresponding model and years of the multi fuel engines with their specs.
I have searched the site and read countless threads as to debates over one to the other and peoples preferences each one.
Most of the threads only refer to LDT vs LDS.
I would like to know...
Ok I might be completely dumb In saying this but I truly don't know if my thinking is correct.
More horse power doesn't mean going faster. Just means your engine doesn't have to work as hard to accomplish it's ability to move the vehicle.
The ability to go faster is determined by gearing in your...
Thank you for the offer of help with plumbing the air lines..
What I have planned will be fairly easy though. Unless at a letter date I decide to go full air brakes.
Since most of my brake system is compromised I am going to go Hydro boost, full juice system.
I salvaged a master cylinder off of...
No problem Metal magnet.
Glad I could help out with the pictures. I believe you are right with the relay on the heater. Unfortunatly my rig has next to no wiring in it do to it being saved from the scrap yard. By the time I got it the truck was stripped of all wiring and most of the air lines...
Here are your asked for pics of the underside of the spare tire carrier.
The added box on the back of my heater unit is a mystery to me. I am going to assume it is a relay of some sort. It doesn't have and wiring going into anything on the main body of the heater. Just two or three wires...
Here are pics of my heater. Couple of when it was still installed and other of it now.
The mice sure loved to use it as a home. They ate most of the ducting when it was installed.
Ask and you shall receive.
Here are some pics of my spare tire holder. Took them just this morning for you.
I will also try to get some pictures of my heater as well.
Hmmm. Sucks getting old and having uncontrollable leaks...
As for the tranny leak. I have never heard anything good about tranny additives.
They sometimes do the job and most often cause the problem of gumming things up. Had on old 86 chevy 1500 that I put an additive in to stop some seepage...
Hmmm. Interesting.
The only markings on my M135 are on the outside of the passenger side frame rail just behind the bumper, where the winch Would sit.
Even these are not even really legible. Looks as though some one had weak hammer swing a while stamping the numbers.
However I have never see...
Thanks a heap Ruststud!
Now to get it running proper. Needs a fuel pump and some wiring issues. It won't keep running off the alternator and no charge to the battery.
No the alternator isn't buggered. I checked it. The wiring looks pretty hacked from when someone took the propane system out...
Hey Ruststud,
Since you worked at IH would you have any clue as to what motor I have? I have searched all over the engine for numbers and can't find any other than the firing order on the head.
Sorry for hijacking the thread. Just want to know incase I need parts.
Another side note. It seems all...
I was thinking similar. I used to have a Dodge 1 ton that had two tanks with a simple cross over. Fill one tank and the other fills as well and balance out. No need for extra fuel gauge wiring and pumps.
Why would that not work on any other trucks. Unless you have a multifuel and want a...
Looks great! Do you have a detailed thread about the unmount hub swap?
550 for those tires? That's what we Canadians pay per tire for well used Military tires.
Any concerns about those rims warping or cracking under stress when off roading?
The dump system sounds great and probably close to...
