I closed my bypass on the filter base used with my pump. I replaced the canister filter on my M818 with 2 bases with no internal bypasses so there is no chace of anything getting by.
I just realized my heater is gone! The blower inside the cab is there with all the controls but everything inside the engine bay is gone. I power washed it today to get rid of the probably 30 years old mold growing on it.
Can anyone link me to 10 ton technical manuals? I haven't found any...
I'd have to agree, I thought my truck was a drive to blast besides some minor mechanical issues. I just wish it had a few extra high gears so you could at least do 55 or at least a way to single it out and gain a couple of MPHs. I think the ratios are spot on vs the 3rd to 4th shift on the...
I think 10 microns is enough. After all, most oil filters are around 10-20 so if that is fine for machined bearing surfaces, I'd think it'd be fine in the fuel system. I'm not talking old 70's engines either, the newer stuff uses the same filters pretty much. Stock fuel filters around around...
Geez, you guys must use a lot of time filtering oil. I bought a cheap HF 2.5hp water pump and filter through a 10 micron spin on filter and I can pump 25gallons in a about 20 minutes. I took out the canister filter on my M818 and replace it with 2 spin on filter bases of 10 microns which is...

I just picked mine up Saturday. If you have any pic requests of certain areas, let me know.
Nope, it says "25,000" on the plate.
Care to post the picture? What's it got for singles?
Hmm, how are the M123s? Any idea which models they are? Does the 125 still have the front winch? I'd only be interested in a diesel truck except I'd really like the front winch off that 125, although I...
I've found a lot of good stuff on Craigslist. Actually I bought all my MVs on Craigslist. I've seen anything from 10 ton flatbeds, huge cranes, forklifts, gas wreckers, M809 series trucks including an M816 once, to the smaller trailers.
In MA you don't need a permit/escort/etc. til 12' I...
Yea, I wish it was a little faster but oh well, it's still fun to drive. The ride is actually pretty nice, much better than my M818. Although the air ride seat seems to be working a lot better than my M818. The seats in general are thicker foam and more comfortable.
That's a nice set up. I need to get a trailer now.
It is a big truck. I think the 809s should've come with the 14-24s instead of the 11-20s.
I had some clogged filer syndrome show up when I was a about a mile from my destination! 1st gear for about 1/4 mile or so. I pulled over, shut down and...
Happen to find an M123 on Craigslist at the beginning of the week and checked it out today. Seems to be in pretty good shape, though there is some rot. It was only about 40 minutes away on a normal drive so it was a slow ride back on the highway. Took a while for the flat spots to finally even...
I pour all my oil into a drum if it's in a 5 gallon bucket or something of similar size and look for water/coolant. Then I pump into another drum leaving maybe 6" in the bottom. Then I pump into a 250 gallon IBC and only pump from the upper half so I minimize the chance of getting water since it...
Well I have to know if there is any reason I can't run without a filter??? That was my original question....I'm just going to by pass the canister now anyways, if I can find the right **** fittings that is. :x
