    Mix N Match Batteries?

    I would replace all the batteries. The optima is a different type of battery (spiral core) than your standard lead acid plate battery. Mixing them can potentially cause problems. I would either buy 3 more optimas or 4 24 series

    Fine thread bolts vs coarse

    I use fine thread on all deuces we work on to sstick with the original theme of the truck. I would use coarse thread on add on parts on my truck. When I put on my remote reservoir I used coarse thread bolts. Look around a little and you will be able to find the bolts and nuts cheaper.

    M416 Build (advice needed)

    I would weld a piece of 2 inch flat stock down each side of the back panel (maybe $20.00 worth of metal) and put hinges at the bottom to make a functional tailgate. For the floor you can buy patch panels for a pickup truck bed and they aren't very expensive. Cut the old bed out weld the new one...
