Ok I've seen the past posts on this and was just wondering if there's anything new that someone has done. I'm getting ready to do the inside of the cap. Was wondering if anyone has put any sound deadening stuff under the liner?
I changed to cap screws (Alien head bolts) there rated at 180,000 psi, on some mechieney, but when they break the head pops off and your left with a nice stud to get some vice grips on or you can weld something to it and get it out. But I make no claimes. And you have to use the right lock washers.
hyd fluid usely has stuff in it to keep it from foaming up and putting air into the system, but both should work but prob don't want to mix them if there still some in the system use that one or get it all out and start from scratch.
Yes just do one thing at a time, make sure you keep it driveable. I started a frame off restoration on a nice 41 Dodge WC got so overwhelmed I endened up giveing the whole thing away. sucked. hang in there bro.
Cool, I have a springer in the 5 ton but not the deuse, I could swap them but I might want to take the 813. If I were going by myself I would take the deuse with the 46s it dose about 65-70mph but convoy speed will be less around 50-55 I'm guessing?
Thats a good point James, I guiss you don't. One less step is nice and don't run the risk of damage to the dust boot on the tie rode end. Can someone tell me if the 5 ton frounts are the same as the m35 but just bigger? Thanks.
Kinda unerving in SoCal trafic to have the temp gauge blow out of the dash and lose all power! And in a place you can't pull over. So yes sucure thoes babies down. Also I'm gonna put a rubber mat on top of them just in case.
HAHA ya kinda like that I think thats why they came up with bath tub gin. Dont know if you heard but check out the post "what a drive home" yes battery hold downs are a must.
If you get the truck make sure the batteries are held down inplace in the box before you drive it home. DUG can back me on the importance of this. HAHA
Nice truck, you should try suffering from BRD in the state of Ca. Got a bobbed deuce about 8 months ago, now I just got a 813, O crapp now I can't stop! Or won't.;-) lol
Well all bulbs replaced, new temp gauge and new batteries, truck seems to be working great! last fix will be to weld up the big hole in the battery cover. Thanks for all the help.
