What did you do to your deuce this week?

Question....I have the troop seats from my M929 that could be remade as troop seats for my deuce 4x4 project. It's a lot of effort to re-make them to fit. Is it worth having the fold up seats (with the rest of the cover) or are fixed side racks (which would be a lot simpler to re-make) the way...

Titling/registering M923 in Indiana. Like to hear from the Hoosiers who have done it.

I got titles to all of my trucks in Indiana. All they really care about is getting tax money. If you went through GSA, they do not charge state sales tax but the contractor sales, GL or GP, depending upon the state, some do charge state sales tax (their state). In that case, Indiana does give...

    11R20 dual question

"For the 14.5x20's I suspect a good number of the failures are due to the A3 trucks CTIS leaking and it allowing the wheel to lay on the ground and damage the sidewall." ....yes, exactly. That is what happened to the GY AT-2 14.00 on my 929 dump truck....makes them egg shaped and they get...

    Transmission issue, help!

Very nice HMMWV. Sounds like you have a plan. If it's the fourth and reverse clutch, try not to use reverse any more than you have to if you plan to re-use it.

    Transmission issue, help!

That "glistening with metal particles" is the clutch friction material. If you keep going with slipping clutch, eventually it will burn up the aluminum piston. Does the "smattering of tiny metal fragments" appear to be aluminum? Stop now if it's aluminum. New fluid does not solve the problem...

16.00 on M929A2, pros and cons

Yea....what Wes said... when the spedo says 60, I'm at 52-53 with the 395. I want to get the RPM to about 2200 and I should get a true speed close to 60.

    Upgrading bobbed deuce suspension

I haven't done it, but would like to do a 4 link using the dog bones and their axle mounts. The axle mounts that are on the bottom of the front and rear rear axles would provide the 4 axle mounts needed, simply bolted on. The four link keeps the driveshaft flange parallel through a wide range...

VIC to Cellphone Adapter and Military Radio Digital Modes Adapter

Augi...I don't want to be one of those one time interested posters. I simply don't know enough to make a purchase or really even the ask the right questions. I would like to integrate a camera and I pad and sound system, but don't have the technical competence. I don't know if SS has a...

    Power Plant Wiring

I have a military generator but have not had it running or used it to answer your specific questions on this plug and switch. I have been a licensed electrician for 40+ years. Myself, I like to hard wire when possible and the missing parts would seem to make that possible. But then again...

4 person intercom with ability to link in cell phone

Oops, made comment in the thread linked above. Last Augi posted was end of 2017. Maybe he would set somebody up to make them if the demand was too high for him. I want a system too, but don't have anything but the cell phone and I-pad.

VIC to Cellphone Adapter and Military Radio Digital Modes Adapter

End 2017 was Augi's last entry. Maybe he would set someone up to make them. Demand might have been more than expected.

    14.00x20 dualed tires

That is a perfect use for the AT-2 GY that are egg shaped....as long as the eggs don't line up. Wes, is the inner wheel a standard combat?

    Cab roof insulation

    Try foam sleeping mats.

    Rear Suspension

Springs change the driveline angle as they move up and down. With any articulation (like the above picture), one will face up and the other face down....and that is assuming you have both parallel to the frame to start with. Now if you were thinking about 4 links and airbags, it might be do-able.

    Show Me Your Campers!

I got the boxes on the axle but have a big back porch to build and an overhead structure yet too. Like a big tent over the whole thing with sleeping up above.

    Show us your Military Trailers

Plenty of people are selling hummer wheels and tires. You should not have any trouble finding them. I finally got my box(s) on the frame. Wheels and tires off f350.

    Show us your Military Trailers

8 on 6.5" bc, same as older Ford, Chevy and most 8 lug trailers. Notice the standard (16.5") wheel has a huge backspace and the BIG tires as compared to off a truck. Same as HMMWV. Here is smaller...pickup/trailer size 16" to compare.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I would love to see the video of that...setting it on fire would add a whole new level of drama.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Good luck with your new truck. Recidivism in action....yea.

16.00 on M929A2, pros and cons

Not really. But I do have room to go up in the front, I'm 3" lower than the back and the angle is noticeable. I'm sure I would clear the wheel well opening in the back, no problem in the rear at all. Do the 16.00's fit the A3 "metric" rims? 11" wide would seem to be no problem and I have...
