I have to agree with 98G and AndyDP, that I need to get the power worked out. Jbulach, when you get yours right, come and do mine. It doesn't seem to be the pedal that is the issue with rpm, but I'll take a look at it. Getting into that pump and governor is more than I want to take on while I...
Is the building with hardwood stacked in the loft what you pulled down? Does your dad have a Wood-Miser small sawmill?
I wrapped chain around one and secured it so as I pulled, it had just a little twisting going on. Fun stuff....with the bonfire later too.
If you crank very long you may smoke #1. I don't know if the connectors will take the load either. Military uses 4/0 for the NATO style. I used 2/0 welding cable and a tig hose cover. Here is mine (partly assembled).
If the emergency brake that is on the truck works, like VR says, you have a "drive-line retarder". No jake required...just make sure the e-brake is working, has lining on the shoes and is in adjustment.
I'm bringing this thread back to add the part number for the fourth and reverse aluminum piston, when I get it located. If anyone has that part number, when I went through the rebuilding process, I didn't record it. It's an important part since the OEM piston seals were inferior and result in...
I run 60-65 on my M929A2. If I were to load heavy, I would go to 80+. I'm running 395's now not 14.00, which are actually higher payload capacity than 14.00. Both rims and tires have a max pressure on them, I believe.... rims being lower than the tires.
I'm thinking about 16.00's on my M929A2 which would free up the 395's on it for my M35A3 4x4. I've read plenty of threads on using 16.00 but none specific on the M929A2.
First, my 929 is turned way down on fuel and rpm...in fact it's a dog. Governor seems to be set at about 1950 and down...
Gene....you will have to give more details. What do you mean by auxiliary? The M931A1 air brakes have glad hands to run a trailers air system. Or do you mean changing the 931 wedge type to S-cam?
Bit o.t. but I read a book "Truth in Money" about how money in the USA under the FED system is "made", how much of it and how many times it turns over (velocity) and how much is "retired", etc. The authors were basically engineers but with extensive financial knowledge.
Seems since money is...
An electric enclosure becomes a storage box and when the door is down can be a work area. It's just sitting there and will be mounted solid after the s788 box is plated an bolted to the frame. I'm going to need some weight on the rear.
To work and look good for sale. I like the build, use a bit and then sell. But with 5 tons drying up at auction, I'm not sure of very much...except they are all money pits.
Google --- rubber grommet 1/4"--- for a start finding something commercially. Never seen them used myself but it would seem to help to seal it. Post a pic of what you come up with.
VR, that is the CTIS air line. While I have not had one apart yet, I believe the air passage goes under the inner bearing. They take a standard bearing and grind in air slots..... COST A FORTUNE.
It will be interesting to see one apart. I am not using CTIS on my A3 4x4 but potentially could...
Yes to welding wire. The 4/0 is probably the cable that would carry 100% duty cycle and drop to maybe 70- 80% with 2/0 gauge. You are running cable the entire way, both + and - , not going to frame ground aren't you? It would be nice to have a switch but a plug-in, while very manual, works too.
I'll put my wager on clutch pack piston seal giving up. The more you try, especially if you give it RPM, the more damage it will do to the clutches and particularly the aluminum piston. Check for grit in the pan oil from the decaying frictions and (hope not) aluminum balls from the melting...
