With the chains Going the same way crossed. Is what a couple of friends of mine done hauling trucks. I told them with the cable through the pintle hitch. and attached to the clevis's. Is what i like. They are in the transportaion Division and Recovery. I will post pics up at a lter date to show...

Yes we had a couple like that also and the 290 Usually the first to get leaking is oil cooler. Big Cummins money maker back in the day. Pretty simple to do. JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE TIMING MARKS ARE ALLIGNED. I know i say it alot. But if you don't you'll be draining the whole engine again.

Oh one thing i forgot to mention. The oil cooler on the passenger side. After starting keep your eyes on . Anti-freeze in the oil and oil in the Anti-freeze. If you do don't panic it;s not a head gasket. The oil cooler is leakig. If it does take apart. And line up timing...
