Like I said, being close is better than being far. The first deuce my bubby and I bought was 900 miles from home, don`t remember what it cost to drive there to pick it up and drive it home,,but it added several hundred dollars to the cost and fuel was a lot cheaper then. With the addition of the...

Welcome to the green disease. Can`t go by odometer miles, need pics to get a better idea of condition. A title is a must, so that is good. Price is in ballpark, maybe a little high depending on a few things. Being close is worth several hundred bucks I would think. I don`t think this is to bad...

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

We were trained to downshift when slowing or stopping. We only used brakes for the final stop , as we were going so slow by then. My 1952 Studebaker deuce can go from second to first when moving by double clutching, have to be moving slow. Maybe the A-1`s or newer you can`t do that.

    long wheelbase 4x4 deuce

I don`t think anything is as beautiful as the original deuce! Some of this other stuff is neat, but it seems hard for me to want to do to a deuce. 2cents

If you can buy it for that price do it now unless it is a complete pile of rust and scrap.

Deuce Driving Experience Compared to Civvy?

When I was in the Corps, the gunny called all the drivers in because they needed a couple of extra deuce drivers for just a couple of days. He asked if any of us that didn`t already have a 2 1/2 ton license could drive a deuce. I raised my hand, the clerk typed 2 1/2 ton on my license and I was...

cost of ownership (the real cost of a deuce)

This is like when I bought my first horse for $200. Then tack $500, trailer, $700, yearly vet bills, farrier, hay, truck camper, $800,horse for wife, $400 ,and on and on. When someone would ask what I paid for my horse I would tell them it only cost me $200.:whistle:
