    Engine assemblies on GL

That it is. Had a C turbo on a D motor. The motor and everything on it looked great!

    1952 studebaker

I tried to interest Bruce in it, too far away for him. Whoever gets it, I hope they restore it. They are scarce in this condition! Hell, they're scarce in any condition!

    Engine assemblies on GL

I got lucky and got one without a hole in the block. That said, I have not run it. There was a piece of paper on the can that said the engine was running when pulled from a wrecked truck. The pan is damaged where the front axle forward pinion flange spun against it, leading me to believe it was...

    1952 studebaker

That one definately needs a true restoration. They are scarce as hens teeth! I would hate to see someone chop it up for the axles! I have only seen one up close, and it had been used to death by an electrical co-op and junked years ago. Bruce Kubu! Where are you?

    46" XL's on a deuce

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: How they/you do dat? I would like a tire that is the same height as an 1100, but would run on a 10" rim. My truck is fast enough as it is, I just want the look of wider tires (mine is singled)

    Progress report (almost there)

'Bout time youngster! Get that puppy running!

Stock deuce rims with 15.5's yes or no?

15.5's would be OK off road only. You can get away with most anything as long as you go slow. I would not try them on the highway on stock rims. I need to find a couple of 15.5's w/ tubes and flaps myself.......I am getting ready to weld up some 10" deuce wheels soon.

    Surplus Yards in Ga?

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Surplus Yards in Ga? I've been there and prowled around. Lots of good stuff, prices are a little high for some things.

Pimp my ride - MV style...or lack thereof...

Heck of a load for Blazer axles. I wouldn't hit any bumps very hard! Tires and wheels might be just a tad overstressed...... Deuce without axles probably weighs at least 10,000 pounds

    Assistance desired tomorrow...

They don't look like they were submerged from the photos, but that is just my opinion. I wish I could get down there to see them, these might be bargain trucks! Of course, GL will probably pull them the last 2 hours if they are not bringing much.

    New Truck, another bridge type

RE: Bridge Truck Get someone in a CUCV to run ahead of you with a convoy light and drive it home! Bet nobody messes with you.

    Napa Radiator Hoses

I learned on a 72 Ford with a Holmes 500. Good old wrecker.

    Jumping out of gear

Does it happen when you back off the fuel when backing up? Or does it pop out when under load? You may be able to change the reverse slide gear and correct the problem.

    M151 Rear Differential

Mutt mechanical parts are plentiful and cheap, since so many of the bodies were chopped up. If you can find a good body, you can buy all the running gear for about 2500 USD.

Although it is often viewed as heresy, some of the Japanese medium truck diesels are tough little engines. I have never looked at how hard they would be to swap, because I am happy with my multi fuel. You couldn't afford to feed a gas V-8 in a deuce, not for road trips. Now for mud bogging...

Six cylinder inlines are what fit a deuce well. The small six Cummins is popular, and I would imagine there are others that would fit as well. A 4-71 Detroit would be a fun swap. The 300 CID Ford gas straight six is supposed to make a good motor for a deuce. I used to drive dump trucks with the...

You might have tight clearances by the steering column, although you could just set the motor farther forward. I see no issues with the 700R4 tranny, but I would use the stock deuce t-case to keep the driveshaft angles stock. Can't see any real advantage to changing the t-case out. All you...

    Any member in Wichita Ks?

Yep. And since you already have the winch extensions in place, it will be easy for you. Was the PTO still on the tranny?

    Jumping out of gear

Holding it in gear will wipe out your shift forks in short order. Best bet is fix the tranny.
