Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Well the weather and that stupid thing call work has gotten in the way again. Still haven't had time to do anything to the truck. Hoping the weather and a little time commes my way before snow flies. Still have to lock the engine down. That was my goal this year. M1010plowboy, you still planning...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

That there upright pipe looking thing on the back? That my friends, after many days of research, is an experimental Black Ops piece of equipment. Hours of research has proven to me that during a mission of an undisclosed nature, this pipe looking thing would hold a piece of equipment that would...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Don't yet know what I did to get that pic to show up! Not the greatest pic of when I painted the frame but that's a little bit of what I have done and as of yet not much of anything else. Gonna get back at it soon before the snow flies I hope though!

Compliment to the gang on the "Early Deuce"

Thanks vtdeucedriver! This is, to my mind, the best most informative and helpful forum out there! I have looked into others and have not found the passion for these old rigs like I have here. Though I can't speak for having the largest knowledge base for the MV's but the other chaps here in this...

m35a3 rims and tires fit on m135?

MLVW rims are hard to come by in my neck of the woods for a reasonable price used at any rate. There are only a couple places I have found to buy new 2 piece rims. I would rather go that route but don't have 3000 dollars plus taxes. To find these four that I grabbed for 200 bucks is a treat to...

m35a3 rims and tires fit on m135?

I did pick up those MLVW rims for 200 bucks for all four of them. One is completely unmolested! However I still plan on having the hubs turned out and making flat plates in their place. I did contemplate the duece hubs put in place turned backwards for added backspacing but decided against it...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Yea I had thought about getting my stock rear shafts lengthend at a shop here. Just figured I would see if my secret blackmarket agent (Dave) , might have a second one laying around in his parts superstore (field of parts trucks) that he could throw my way. He has his hands pretty full right now...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I have decided I am going to be bobbing my rig, once I get it running. I am looking to use a front propellar shaft in the rear. This should give me that even stance instead of looking like my truck had leprosy. It will push the rear axle back 11 inches. Anyone got any kicken around?

    Giving up on M135.........

Still looking for the info but I do recall that some one had this issue and they rplaced the wheel cylinders and used the canadian made ones by mistake. Their wheel would lock up tight untill the brake sytem fully bled itself back. The solution was to replace the rods (pins, pistons) with the...

    Giving up on M135.........

Hello Brad, I have been looking at this thread off and on and see you still have a break release problem. If you have replaced all of the wheel cylinders could it be that by chance you have a canadian built cylinder on that wheel? The canadian wheel cylinders have longer rods (pins) that hit the...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Ok did a bunch of research and found this about two speed rear axles. They aren't compatable to our axles. Duh stupid! The resounding thoughts of most who have these rigs. To make it possible as far as I have found is a complete axle swap and since these rigs are 6x6 or 4x4 like I am looking at...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I already have it cased on the air compressor. The one I am wanting to get is a Bendix Truflo 550. It mounts to the spot the power steering pump would normaly be. They also have a gear on the back side of the compressor to piggy back a power steering pump. New they go for ironicaly 550 ish. I am...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I can't remember if I have asked this before or not. Has anyone ever thought of split axles? I mean the type found is most older 5 ton trucks. I know Eaton makes split diffs. I wonder if there is a model that fits out axles??!!? Much research is needed!! This may be a handy thing if it is...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Just a quick question. Does anyone know the thickness of the sheet metal on the cabs? Is it 16 gauge?? Been trying to keep an eye out for scrap sheets that I can try and grab from people that are getting rid of stuff. Gotta go hobo when you got no dough so...

Scrap it or keep it? 1953 m135

Send it to me!!! I could use 90 percent of it probably! I would say keep it if you have the intent to get it up and running. If not sell it as a whole parts truck to some one who needs it or actually has intent to restore or modify. Looks like a decent truck. I would keep it. On a side note...
