2 months or so ago I did some welding with a metal watch band. I was changing the main power switch on the deuce and had my hand up in the dash when all of a sudden... CRACK!! SIZZLE!! Good-bye twist-o-flex, hello smoke! I caught the watch on the heater switch and commenced to lay the prettiest...
I too drilled all my holes with a pair of cordless drills. I got good at it! The trick is to start with a 1/8 bit then move to 5/16 then to 1/2. With sharp bits I can drill a 1/2" hole in a frame in the amount time it would take me to set up a mag drill..... But I would sure like to have a mag...
If you open the windshield about 4 inches, you can set your beer on the cowling. Just make sure you have a tittie on it or it will get hot real fast.

It took me 2 gallons of 383 carc substitute from Rapco and 2+ quarts of xylene to paint the cab and frame (no interior) of a bobber. I would suggest 4 gallons.

Don't they all knock? Seriously though... If it were a cam bearing or a main you may never hear a thing. As loud as these engines are, you may not hear a rod until it's about to grenade.

Well to update this thread. I all but removed any wandering I was having by adding one round of Toe to the tie rod. I found that the wheel/tire with the 1/4" runout actually had a flat spot on it. It is now my spare. Drives like a different truck!

Are they gonna be cheaper for SS members, or does your ebay price stand? BTW, which "Feds" did you get these from? I was thinking about buying one..... If the one I get has the word "china" anywhere on it, your azz is mine.
The reason I am wary is because I saw the same things at a local flea...
I used to drive one like it 30 yrs ago... If memory serves me correctly it does have a torque converter. It kinda lets you maneuver around aircraft easier. We never pulled aircraft with them though. Just ground equipment.
