Looks like 2012 convoy for me.
The inside of the expanding vans seems like a cavern after being inside a M109 van body.
At 17 foot long and 14 foot wide expanded its larger then some apartments I have lived in and most of the hunting cabins as well. I plan on expanding the over cab section and removing the monster AC/heater...
With the lift gate on My M820A2 being so large I can use it as a porch and throw up an awning on the back of it.
Just need some brackets mounted to the sides of it for posts and I can string a cable for safety or even have fold down safety rails since there is 3 or 4 inches of clearance...
I have a M820 in Huntsville I am willing to part with, if anyone else wants to do a camper conversion this year. It looks like its just gonna be in storage for the next year otherwise.
I would love to drive out to Vegas in the 5 ton before it gets too hot.
I will be on crutches from Feb until Sep and wont be able to drive the M820A2 out might be able to convince the wife to pack up the kids and road trip it in the Expedition.
Pics of the engine might help for a better estimate.
Just the gauges glass and doors your out at least a thousand U.S. The seat depending on if you go with a replacement spring seat or a newer air ride could be another 500. Compressor or tanks hoses you can get lucky or might have to replace...
Its times like this that you have to remember your buddies vehicle has a working fuel filter.
So YOUR problem is solved but hes gonna need a new one.
:grd:
Do you have parts tools and TMs?
Tools and parts I might be able to help with I am sure in a city the size of Albuquerque there has to be an auto parts store open. Being a holiday of course I doubt they are open. TMs you can download since you have net access.
I am about 8 hours from you...
Its always been a pleasure to deal with the Redstone GL.
In addition I would like to add if your having trouble getting a shipper out of Redstone try JT's Towing service. Hes got a big Peter Built semi wrecker and has dealt with GL before so he knows the drill. Only charged me 275 to haul a...
I am not familiar enough with CARC paint to know if it deteriorates rubber. I have noticed the hoses on the lift gates seem to be in worse shape where they have paint on them.
I am looking into green rubber gaskets and rubber friendly paints.
I have 2 trucks would be 2 hard tops if I had it done the way I had planned originally.
I understand what your saying, I have a few ideas in mind to minimize the visibility of the gaskets.
The insulation in the walls is old school fiberglass. The insulation in the VENTS in the front wall leading down from the heaters contains asbestos. Those vents were filled up by the army with expanding foam and then sealed up with metal plates.
Taking them out as a whole unit and properly...
Hah
Well I used to harass my wife about spending all her spare time on Facebook. A couple of weeks ago she pointed out I spend more time on the forums every day then she does on there in a week.
Picked up my M820 from Redstone and found a extra set of brand new leveling jacks in the van in addition to the set under the box and this tool kit in the tool box. Every nook and cranny of the box had some kind of goodies in it. I even got a half bag of 3 foot long zip ties.
Thank you 198th MPs
