Do you happen to know if you replaced your pitman and idler arms with the moog problem solver? If not, the non problem solvers are known to fail quickly. It’s a pretty easy diagnostic to see if those components are (still) good.
Hey dciv - I had similar bouncing. You may want to check your pitman and idler arms. The manuals have good instructions for checking if those components.
Best of luck!

Thanks! Sorry I missed graves mountain this year. Chaotic work and travel schedule + weather threw me off. Hopefully we can meet up another time!

I actually just replaced these parts on my 1993 m998 - I had the same struggle trying figure out which parts were compatible and/or which parts were prone to premature wear/failure. I purchased these parts and they work great (you'll need to purchase a few extra washers to account for the extra...
Make sure the ground behind the instrument cluster is firmly and cleanly attached. My nut came loose a while back and my wait light failed to illuminate - and I'd see my charge in the yellow. Real easy and quick check.

A really quick, simple first check is your ground right behind the instrument cluster. I had a short blink before, a quick tighten of that bolt got it back to normal behavior. Doesn't cost anything to try. Otherwise, you'll need to follow the great advise here.
Thanks Bulldogger. It was definitely a two man job! I'm hoping to get back out today to see if I can make some headway in getting things put back together.
I'll keep you posted.
Considering the gsa standard rate is .54/mile, a thousand miles would be $540 - it makes sense that $1/mile is not crazy for vehicles like these.

Agree with dilvoy. Specifically, I have found that the ground behind the instrument panel can cause weird behavior with the wait light and controller. Try cleaning that one really well, make sure the nuts are tight and mess with the cable a little bit as a starting point.
Very true Bulldogger. Also, securing the seat to the tunnel can be tricky to get the mounts to line up on flat surfaces - some light fabrication work will likely be required. Let me know if I can help in any way!
I prefer having kids ride there - removes the temptation to stick their arms out of the doors. My kids say they can see better as it raises them up about a foot or so.
Oh yeah. Forgot about that. I pulled it from a Suzuki samari in a junk yard, an old fj seat would work the same. I find it very useful, can easily transport 6 people total in the cab. I'm about 6 feet tall, my head just about touches the roof when I sit in it. It wasn't too bad to install, but...
Thanks! I struggled with how to deal with the seats and evaluated a lot of alternatives. Ultimately decided to try this route as it maintains the more authentic look (I went black with fabric instead) with a low price threshold. The new seats are significantly friendlier on folks' backsides than...
Hi -
This subject seems to be a good place to introduce myself - long time reader, first time poster.
I recently made my own seat cushions to replace the worn out ones that came with my m998. I ordered some 3.5" thick marine grade foam for the bottoms and 2.5" for the seat backs. I used the...
