I have looked through all the manuals and cannot find the gear ratios for the Spicer 6453. Does anyone have the ratios?
There is also a 6453A listed on some truck parts sales websites. I wonder what that is?
I do not, however, someone once offered a steel plate assy that would mount on the center 'hump' between two "driver" seats, so that the radio faces upwards and the driver could get at it. This is not a military authorization, but it is convenient. Info might exist on oldsteelsoldiers.

So, what this means very simply is that to freewheel the front drive shaft from the transfer, remove the air from the transmission.
Then the transfer will not spin the front drive shaft.
The front drive shaft will be driven by the front axle.
Assuming lockout hubs were available, then the...
While you fixed that, you may wish to remove the tape one at a time, properly solder the wires, and use a piece of heat-shrink tubing. I solder everything and instead of tape, I use heat shrink tubing. I have zero electrical problems, except occasional new ones.
According to the oil company chemist I spoke to, yes, MT-1 rated GL-5 is not damaging to the yellow metal innards of the transmission or transfer. Mine's had 9000 miles on it with no noticeable wear or problems. It's made that way so they can sell a better lube for all the old equipment still in...
What height are the tires? 53"?
Do you know the weight of the wheel and tire?
Can you post some more images of the spare tire arrangement please? I was under the imression that big of tires would not fit or be easy to hoist.
thanks,
Ahh... a novel way to get rid of that PCB oil from those 50 year old pole transformers. PCB oil has almost a perfumey smell when normal. Sometimes you can smell it near the old high voltage capacitors. That does not always mean a dangerous leak, only the tiniest amount will make the odor. But...
I've been looking at this tread for a while, nice to see the innards and naughyt bits of the truck. Tough looking truck allright. Not sure the air cooling would do well in Texas. All I can say it is it looks very, very Russuian!
That is it.. 443 must be permitted. Thanks.
There is something, actually many thousands of somethings, out there that keep trying port 36177 here. I think it's bad juju. Too bad there is no way to IP-elecro-bomb them back to 'dos on a diskette'.
Look at this mess, only 12 minutes worth:
Sat...
I have restricted many ports on the home router due to annoyances from the internet. Unfortunately GL seems to use one I am not familiar with for the LOGIN function.
What port is necessary to be open on the user's computer to have success when clicking on LOGIN ? It is between 111 and 8079. I...
Hot on mine is 30 at idle, 60 at highway. The manual calls for less.. perhaps your regulator is sticking.
Or maybe you have a 0-60 sender on a 0-120 guage. The senders look different. the 60 LB one is very cylindrical, like a GM one from 1970. anyone got oil sender pictures?
The pressure...
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank God for the MV freedoms we enjoy in Texas, among his many other kind blessings. Believers could ask His help with the stubborn beaurocrats and I'm not ashamed to suggest it. A good offensive has more than one prong.
I found out is is 6KW !!! Oh well I am still happy, the price I paid was very good. With the tires and safety chains and having to buy the towing lights and pay my helper and feed him etc etc I am at $1800.
Yes, that's right folks.. the seller said it was 7.5KW and had good tires. Also...
