Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

As far as I know you will have to purchase it surplus either off a surplus retailer or an auction site etc. The adapter fits both the 5 gallon and 55 gallon. When you place the adapter in a 55 gallon drum you have to screw the extensions together. I don't have mine in hand yet, but this is...

Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

You must not work and have a job....or something. I have a wife and small child at home. The scepter 5 gallon tank allows up to 5-10 more hours between fill ups using a big genset or much longer with a small genset like an 831a. Let me know if you would like some more answers outside of...

Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

So in addition to my fuel pickup tube I ordered to use on a 55 gallon drum or the Scepter Military Fuel Can (MFC), I ordered a couple ez pour spout adapters that work with the Scepter MFC. I will report back my findings. So far the least expensive new diesel high flow spout I can find for my...

Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

Yes sir, that is what I have coming. They are pretty expensive but I don't think I'll ever have to purchase another one again….lifetime fuel cans.

Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

Thanks, the Scepter brand is what I purchased. They are different from the Nato cans.

Aux Fuel - Scepter Cans - Goodness!

Well I just ordered a pair of these. Supposed to be brand new. I just clicked and turned my head...pricey! Now I have to find two spouts. I have a fuel pickup assembly on its way. I realize a 55 gallon drum is better and cheaper....but I wanted a few of these cans just because they are cool...

Those of you with an 831a

Thanks, that is good to know. At 3.2kw I will probably just keep the Honda. I was wondering if they were underrated as the 802 and 803.

Those of you with an 831a

Slick! I like it. I don't have power at my farm but I do have a pole barn. I left a champion 2000 watt inverter genset running earlier this afternoon with a couple trickle chargers attached to charge the Polaris and Big Kubota tractor battery. Can you pull that trailer down the road? Nice...

Those of you with an 831a

What do you do with it? What is its purpose for you? Do you find it useful? I have a Honda EU 3000. Considering selling and purchasing the 831a. I guess my interest in the 831a is a little more useable electrical power and diesel fuel. I HATE worrying about clogged or gummed up carb... I...

Off road Diesel in a 2011 MEP 803

This thread inspired me to grab my fuel transfer tank from the farm and go fill it up. Put 75 gallons of on road diesel at $2.49 a gallon. I could have driven 30 miles and bought some off road fro $2.12, but not worth it. Little Kubota BX at the house struggled like crazy with 75 gallons.

Off road Diesel in a 2011 MEP 803

Just another note for those unfamiliar with off road diesel reading this post. I called today and off road diesel was $2.12 per gallon vs. the pump price of $2.59 per gallon. If you are like me and have several pieces of off road diesel equipment it might be worth it to go through the permit...

    MEP-802 and 803 Main generator tip. MOD/MOV

Good post. I just looked and my 2007 803a does not have the fuse mod on it. So what is the best source for the fuse and fuse holder that you have found?

    Finally joined the MEP-803A club...

That is a great price. I got mine for around $4,100 with roughly 25-29 hours. For that premium price it had all brand new Wix filters, already load tested for 2 hours, all new fluids, aux fuel line and grounding stuff all included, no leaks, no issues, and 2 brand new batteries....and I only...

I joined the 803A club as well!

Great info...how about the decision to leave genset in garage and mount on caster and roll out when needed or put it on the concrete pad I have?

    thinking of GL auction

It will calm down... for a lot of people they would rather have the cash than the machine that doesn't get used often...they will worry about it when it happens again.

I joined the 803A club as well!

Thanks, that all makes sense. My first run was on the detached garage. I have a separate 200 amp service along with an apartment and a couple very small HVACs out there. This evening I tested it on my house. I have 2 200amp panels. I hooked up to the one panel with my 5 ton heat pump. I...

    MEP-802a Power troubles

Good call by coming on the forum. You can spend a LOT of time reading and interpreting the manuals, you can do a historical search on the forum, you can also ask a question and see if someone has a quick answer for your problem. I am on a ton of internet forums. Duramax forum for my truck...

Mep belch black smoke for a second on start

My 3 tractors and diesel lawn mower all puff out black smoke upon start....so does my 803a...totally normal. Funny my dramax does not do that...EPA has more control over my truck since it is newer.

How To Get Your Trailered MEP-803A Home

I live 40 miles from Ft. Campbell, but to be honest, I think making a road trip out of it and spending the night and seeing some signs in a new locale might be fun.
