    Bubba’s Dump………..

I wired two into my m1009 awhile back. It involved using relays to cut the power to the gauges when the key was off. Juice for each came from each battery separately and used separate ground points as well. It's an old post, back in 09.

    M1009 rear window slips still.

Oil and rubber works. My father, an old school mechanic, uses it to seat tire beads. I do also, works better than the store bought stuff. It also makes rolling the bead over the rim easier.

    speedo noise?

Anyone ever has a speedometer make a rattle noise? I've got a noise behind my cluster and can't track it down. I've pulled the gauges and secured wires and whatever else seemed like it might work.

    Looking 4 gears

I've heard good and bad regarding the 700R4's. Never heard bad about regearing. Gears would run about $300.00 do it myself except for the carrier.

    Looking 4 gears

Looks like there are different "carriers" for different gears. The highway gears are for a different one?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Did some work on the 1008. Replaced the two blue fuseable links on the fire wall with self resetting breakers, both at the start of the leads. Put two of the same next to the junction on the firewall and used one to power two relays to the headlights and feed them better while taking some...

What is the lowest Hwy Gear for m1008?

Gear ratios are like shotgun gauges, the larger numbers are smaller / lower / slower. 3.73 is faster with less torque. (highway gears) 4.56 is slower with more torque. (towing / hauling gears)

What is the lowest Hwy Gear for m1008?

I do not know about gear ratios and axle gearing. I do know a 700R4, well built with a torque converter lock-up switch will give you better low gearing and overdrive as well. Add to that tall tires, like 255-85-16 and you should be there, or close. I also recall reading someone was putting...
