Isn't a NP205 a little weak for that outfit? I know they are tough as nails in a pickup truck but it seems like a truck that big would need at least a deuce t-case if not a 5-ton case.
I've done this in similar situations. What I did was use springs to hold in center, air one end of cylinder moves it one way (say high range), and air in the other end of cylinder moves it the other way (low range). I'd probably remove the high and low detents so the centering springs wouldn't...
I've been trying to talk my brother into putting a 400 in his M939 lime spreader truck. He hauls heavy loads up some big hills and sure could use some extra power.
IMO driving a deuce as a DD will get old fast. They can get maintenance intensive if you drive them every day and have to depend on it to get to work.
The "free" fuel idea sounds great on the surface but running alternative fuels isn't as easy as pour in and go. To feed a deuce that you drive...
I would say the bed could be twisted. How does it sit on the frame? You could also have weak springs on one side making the whole truck sit low on one side. Do the sides fold without binding?
Dropside beds are weaker that a standard cargo because they don't have the extra bracing of the rigid...
Gimpy, I've never heard of that before. How does the pressurized tank keep the thing from blowing up?
I've been wanting to invest in a oxygen meter but don't really know what kind I need, I have seen people use them before though. They are a meter with a probe that you stick into a enclosed...
I'd say even a M101 is almost too big to be behind a CJ7. The military only pulled 1/4 ton trailers behind jeeps. I've only got a CJ5 but I've pulled a loaded M416 1/4 ton trailer and it's all the CJ wanted. If you went with a 3/4 ton you need a M101a2 with surge brakes.
If you tried to...
I know in TN a bill of sale is ok in lieu of tags for so many days after purchase. I'm unsure what your state requires though and I don't even know if the TN deal will work across state lines.
It is impossible to get a title before you drive the truck home because they won't even accept a sf97...
There are ways to get a title in TN without a sf97 but it's a mountain of paperwork, fees, and fighting with the DMV. I'd much rather pay the $60 for the sf97.
Here's one for you.

d. I picked this truck up from Redstone but I have found evidence in the cab that it came from OK.
e. What I can read of the bumper number is 777AVN.
I've been in one of these types of rebuild shops. What they do is tear engines down, throw all the parts into containers, clean and inspect the reusable parts, and grab parts out of the containers when they put them back in the block.
One thing is it would be purely coincidental if you get the...
Any of the "economy" rebuilders (like Jasper) just throw engines together with mostly unskilled workers. I've seen the same stuff jdknech talks about. Surprisingly they seen to run for a fairly long time though.
I know of one guy that went through three before he found one that would hold...
The farther toward the back of the bed you mount the hoist, the more unstable the raised bed will be. Closer to the back also limits the hoist lift capacity but it allows for more dump angle. When you mount the hoist it's all a tradeoff between lift capacity, dump angle, and stability.
A...
