Esmerelda Enters Menopause
My turn. My beloved Esmerelda, '67 Kaiser Jeep Deuce, has started having hot flashes.
Details:
1992 Tooele Depot rebuild. Not sure if radiator was done.
Turned the pump up one turn of the nut.
Isspro pyrometer installed.
Truck has been sitting a few years, now I...
Not necessarily better, but different, and very well done.

The key seems to be the pump. Expensive to buy or a lot of work to make something up.
What do you use for a pre-luber? That sounds like a great idea.
Does anyone have a photo of where they installed the OD Iron filter in conjunction with a heater? I have the ether cold weather starting kit and was thinking of removing that to make room for the filter.
Thanks in advance for posting the part numbers Baxter. Please, for anyone who has a good setup, post your part numbers and where you got it.
Here is what I am thinking to use:
LiquiDynamics Filter Cart — 7 GPM, 10-Micron, Model# 33275 | Filters | Northern Tool + Equipment
The...
I spent about three hours searching the site and reading the results. The photos posted really helped.
Then I went outside and in ten minutes had the pump turned up. I put a full turn on it and what a difference! It now starts right up instead of cranking for a while and running rough. Second...
This isn't cheap but it would work really nice
LiquiDynamics Filter Cart — 7 GPM, 10-Micron, Model# 33275 | Filters | Northern Tool + Equipment
I am thinking to add a 1 micron filter on the output side. Then when I collect the oil I could just pump it into clean tanks and it is ready to...
The English language is a flexible and powerful tool for communication. Like any tool, often it is wielded by those untrained in its use. They get the job done but it’s not pretty.:|
I received no formal education beyond a hillbilly high school. I saw no value in learning English and...
15.5R20 is 46" diameter. I spend several hours this morning searching and then reading every thread I could find that mentions them. They will mount with difficulty on a stock rim but it isn't a good idea. Michelin recommends 10" rim. Lots of people here run 15.5R20s. Tires are easy to find...
I am looking into going to 15.5R20 or other large radial tires on the Deuce and so spent 6 hours this morning searching and reading threads using the site search and Google and found little specific to this issue.
I have read the manufacturer's dire warnings, as well as the equally dire and...
Good that you figured out what was the matter and got it fixed. In a pinch, I use a trick an old catskinner taught me when I was just a kid. Fire hazard but much better for the motor than ether.
I just take a rag soaked with diesel, light it on fire, and hold it near the intake while someone...
Is Steetbikedepot's 5 ton in the for sale ads? Haven't seen it.
So what did you end up paying for your truck? I had those on my watch list but didnt' see what they sold for.
The reason they don't want battle damage photos posted is that they could aid the enemy. No sense in advertising any chink in the armor or showing the enemy what successes they might have had.
Before you know it, those photos would be training material in Bad Guy School.
I guess I should introduce myself, as I have been lurking for a while. I live in Oregon, and after looking at Deuces for quite a while I have decided that a 5 Ton will work better for my use.
I want to haul heavy stuff, and there will be a lot of 200 mile freeway trips to the cabin I am...
I was looking for a Deuce, but have decided that the 5 Ton will suit me better. I am looking for an M813 or M818 to put a deuce bed on. It would be an appropriate ADV ride!
It's at Idaho Motor Pool

Army Truck
I checked out their website. They have some nice trucks.
