Sounds like somebody took advantage of you. I will never take on a big built like this without half of the money up front, and a iron clad contract written by an attorney. Most of these builds are done by shops with multi million dollar insurance policies or the studios them selves for liability...

People have died driving these trucks home from bases. Many many brake downs on this site on FMTVs. You Being a newbie with a surplus complicated truck. You are better off having it hauled. I've been doing this for over 30 years. Just my 2 cent, This recovery can turn into a nightmare quickly.
