...best documented
That's the best photo-documented road trip I've ever seen...!!! Excellent work and truly a work of art. Thank you for sharing what will probably be the 'standard' for road trips....press on...
...up-dates....?
Hey m880....updates for the earlier FV432's..? Last manual I have is one from 1971 for my 1965 FZV432. Last update was 1984,according to the data plate. Mine is a gas Rolls-Royce model, would certainly like to obtain a newer manual that would deal with the up-dates. Email to...
...gun-friendly...?
As a type #7 FFL Mfg.,I built (5) REAL M2HB's and have a FA one also. You can build a real semi for about $5K...and it's legal in all states except Hawaii and NJ. Even CA has not banned a belt-fed,crew served air-cooled,tripod mounted M2HB. In IN...we can carry,display...
...Welcome....
The OD iron is great...seems jolly ole' England was a bit too close to the last great war...but close enough to get a lot of armor...!! Pic's are fine ....but what about the top-heavy lasses...?....LOL. My sentiments exactly....Welcome to our addiction...errr....HOBBY....LOL....
...same guy...
Yep....same place, same guy. There are a couple being sold on ebay. Got my two,so just thought I'd mention that for anyone who wanted to get a couple for themselves. Might want to speak with Robert at Sam Winer Motor's...(330) 628-4881. He is doing the sales on ebay for them and...
Welcome....!!!
My condolences to the FNG's. They have no idea what they are getting into...LOL. Just hope they will be willing and able to assist other members in their quest for info and help in their restorations and up-keep of their OD iron. I consider myself very lucky to already know...
...getting another..
Thank you for the heads up...I'll try to get another one. Guy in OH apparently has several of them. Anyone have an idea as to what specific vehicle/s these were designed for....?
Just hit the door today. Did not realize how big and heavy this thing is...!!! Think I can use this for the FV432 and the price was under $60.00. Believe it was for the heavier tanks and such....WW2 & Korea...? Somebody check out the numbers...?
...thank you to all...!!!
Gentlemen...I remain in your debt. Thank you your understanding and good fellowship. To all who gave me encouragement and good info...thank you. There are few other places where we could do what we have accomplished here and I realize this. My profound thanks for all...
...First of all...
Guess someone should have told you before this...BUT...better late than never. The first thing for you to do...if not prior military,is to get the wife a ride in an MV. This will likely get her acclimitized to OD iron and you should have an easier time getting stuff. My wife...
....good start for 2011...!!!
Welcome...!!! Hope and change in Il...? Guess Obama (avatar) is pissing on everyone. Might shake up a few liberal dems....but probably not here...LOL. Sure to get a few guys going....
...good 2011 start...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers...!!! Glad to see another 'HOOSIER' aboard....and another from N. IN. Don't be shy about asking questions here ....and do a lot of reading in the threads. The knowledge here is vast and members are quick with answers to specific questions. And...
...Confirmation....
Must confess....the pic's I posted led me to believe that the center periscope was intact. The fact that someone had removed (3) cap screws and opened up this part of the turret was the determining factor. However....given the fact that Yohan, the previous owner, states that...
...pic #2...
Sure would be interested in the trailer in pic #2 (yellow trailer) if it's less than 8'6" (102") wide. Need something to haul 20K without having to get a 'wide-load' permit. Please advise when time permits...email/PM to follow...
...now's the time...
I'd take this opportunity to learn how to re-build it. If nothing else, you could clean it up,check out the armature on a 'growler' at Auto Zone and replace the brushes. You could also check the solenoid and all the wiring and contacts. That alone would probably make it a...
...crying for some...
This addiction....eeerrrr...HOBBY...is crying for someone to come up with a ring-mount that is able to be used on several type vehicles. If you can make the parts usable with current WW2-to-present type mounts, you would have the world beating a path to your door. Sounds...
...suggestion...
Might want to use a local towing service. Usually they are very familiar with the local DRMO people, have done it numerous times and have a secure area to hold your vehicle until you can arrange a pick-up. All you need to do is fax them your PD approval sheet and then arrange...
...all that stuff...
Usually all the stuff in your trailer was for a road trip with the duce that was pulling it. That is equipment for 'safety' on the road. If you have a duce...then you should keep that stuff....IMO....
