How easy does your multifuel deuce start?

I would say mine starts a bit harder than yours. I have to crank and play with the pedal quite a bit. I know its getting fuel because smoke is coming out of the stack the whole time. That combined with gimpyrobs suggestion now has me leaning towards injector pressures.

How easy does your multifuel deuce start?

Just got it in may. Replaced filters and fuel pump. I have been thinking about having the injectors tested. Didn't realize that they were adjustable.

How easy does your multifuel deuce start?

I've seen different ideas on how easily these engines start. I've seen some videos of some pretty remarkable cold starts but also heard of some elaborate starting rituals to get them going. Mine starts good when the wheather is warm and always fires right up when the engine is already warm. But...

    m35a2 quiet turbo

Is that a drop in replacement or would the trans have to go also? Sorry to the OP I think I may be getting off topic. I had just been thinking about a possible replacement if the ole MF does go south.

    m35a2 quiet turbo

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the intake side uses a labyrinth seal (mechanical seal). Pretty fail proof.

    m35a2 quiet turbo

A runaway diesel is a scary thing. Yes you should have a plan of action in the very unlikely event it happens. I wouldn't lose too much sleep worrying about it though. I think you would have a fair amount of warning if seals start to leak bad enough to approach a runaway situation. Such as...

    m35a2 quiet turbo

The d turbo is pretty quiet. You can hear it better with earplugs in but it's still faint. The above check is a good one. Why do you suspect a bad turbo. An m35a2 should be able to pull the front wheels off the ground under acceleration.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

No. I just disassembled and reassembled one. They're working fine but I suppose it would be a good idea to get them tested someday.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Reinstalled the injector lines and mixed up #3 and #5. The up side is that I learned how to take an injector apart in the process of correcting my stupid mistake.

    M35a2 oils

I had intended on replacing my trans and tc fluid with 80/90. I got to Napa and saw the 5 gal buckets of gl-1 so in a spur of the moment decision I decided to try it. It shifts so much better now and when I do grind it feels much softer, kinda like its better insulated. I'll remind you that I...

    M35a2 oils

Well, if you run it long enough you'll find out sooner or later where those shavings came from. Are you talking shavings or flakes? I wouldn't worry too much either way unless you're finding gear teeth and ball bearings in you're oil change. Being it you first change on a new truck which you...

    M35a2 oils

Turns out 50wt non detergent motor oil is hard to find. Guess I'm back to 80/90. Can anyone suggest a run of the mill 80/90 that is safe for our trans and transfer cases? Thanks! Edit: shell spirax it is.

Inherently it doesn't matter what I choose. I'll convince myself it was wrong in a couple months anyway. That's why I don't have any tattoos.
