Depending on work schedule sure, although I have only recovered one so far (it was from Jefferson City too) so it is not like I am nearly as qualified as others on this board.
I am going down Tuesday after an M1009.
Glad to hear you got it off base okay.
I too have to go get my first M1009. I am still debating on a 350 mile drive or using a trailer (if I can borrow it).
Scanned and emailed DL and EUC in pdf format. EUC sent to GL on 12/29/2008, EUC sent to battle creek on 12/31/2008, invoice ready to download today 01/07/2009. This was my second.

Here is my pickup list. Not so much what to check as what to bring.
That's one bet I lost. I wonder what he was doing on your street at 1:00 in the morning, drunk? Cruising by his mom's house? I too hope he takes your advice and grows up.
Bummer.
Being a (25 year old) kid I bet it never occurred to him to release the brakes and attempt steering away from the parked cars (his tires may have worked better at changing the direction of travel because they sure did not work at stopping). I am willing to bet he came over the hill...

Thanks for the info. I have access to a gooseneck rated at 20,000# but the tow vehicle is a 3/4 ton chevy. Not enough truck to pull a duece but should be good enough for an M1009
I really like this manual. It is a step by step guide to troubleshooting the engine.
