nothing happens when I push the test/reset button unless I have a 24v jumper on pin 7

when I put a 24 volt wire to pin 7 I get lights to work. but no lights anytime else.

There are only 10 pins on the fault indicator. Manual says check for voltage between pin #1 on the fault indicator and TB3 at TP31.

Good info on the k15 being 12v. I noticed when the gen starts that the k15 relay closes and there is a very small red light lit on the front of the relay. What does this mean if anything??? Thanx

Very good info Dewey - THANK YOU. I ordered three DC relays because the manual only shows the DC ones. I will check this out. Thanks for helping. I think the pins are OK-not sure how to check them but everything looks pristine.

The fault indicator is not the problem. The bottom of two of the three electromagnetic relays looks burnt. I ordered three new ones. Hoping this is the fix. Starting to think I'm in here all alone....

I tested the voltage to the fault indicator per the manual. No voltage - the manual states to replace the fault indicator if no voltage is found. Should be between 20-34 volts. I found one on e-bay for $70. It's on the way. I hope that will fix it. Question - Would there be any reason that...

I contacted several parts dealers on the internet today and received a price quote for the fault indicator panel. $844.00. That's correct-- eight hundred and forty four dollars for one circuit board with lights and test switch. I didn't expect to get ass raped!! After I sent an ugly message...

The test light for the load terminals lights green as it should but none of the other lights work.

Update on my mep-831a....2008 I got the fuel filter/water separator installed after filling with fuel. Bought two batteries and unit started right away. Starts very easily with pull start also. Everything functions as it should EXCEPT the fault indicator lights don't work. test/reset button does...

I saw a couple batteries on e-bay (RG-24-15A1), $155 + shipping was the best price. What is the advantage of the battery besides the crank start and glow plugs??

I am assuming that the battery is needed to run this unit since it has an electric fuel pump. I am also assuming that the unit can be powered by the military slave cable. I don't think the unit will start and run without a power supply of some type. I have the mep 531a that will run without a...

Sucked out 3 syringes of oil with turkey baster syringe. Purrs like a kitten now. Reads 1/4" below the full mark. That was easy...Thanks to you guys for the quick responses. R Racing - thank you !!!

I will recheck the oil. With the dipstick screwed all the way in it reads on the full mark.
