    Power Steering Possibility?

I'd like to see where cause I have been searching all week and called a few places to no avail. There are other members on here who also say the same thing. If I remember correctly even m35tom said it in a post.

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Yes that would be great I'd like to see how you control the cylinder and maybe a lead on where you got the parts

    Power Steering Possibility?

This is true.... but some of these power steering threads I've read are 4 and 5 years old. I'm having no luck finding a ross steering box. I'm still considering piggy backing a orbital valve to the steering shaft and linking the two with a chain the. Running a ram off the axle .... the drag...

    Power Steering Possibility?

Ok m35tom and gringel might be thinking right to a extent I have found a few posts on tractor forums where they say they are hard on steering boxes but then again these are farm tractors that's are 60+ years old in all reality it doesn't matter where you put a hydraulic assist it's going to hard...

    What's the max tire size?

    Power Steering Possibility?

Ok so I have been researching this for quite a few hours now.... Seems like they are a very popular add on for farm tractors and sand or dune buggies. Apparently in a small light buggy they are saying they are twitchy in hard pack and pavement. I wonder if this will be the case in a deuce which...

    Power Steering Possibility?

Yes it's not like putting a hydraulic cylinder in the column and turning the steering box. Basically you are putting the control input on the shaft then it is exerting the force on the shaft instead of you. obviously eastern has done their home work, or they wouldn't be selling it's a kit to...

    Power Steering Possibility?

Ok but I don't understand is why is eastern surplus selling these at $3000 dollars then if the steering box is know to be weak..... Picture is directly from their website

    Power Steering Possibility?

Yeah kinda like if you had hulk hogan shauffer you around for the day in your deuce lol

    Power Steering Possibility?

Yeah but steering boxes are easily replaceable. Custom parts or even custom hydraulic setups are not cheap. i think this is the route I'm going too.... I have a few leads on one of these units. i figure $250 to $500 for one of these torque generators plus a belt driven pump for around $100 and...

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Oh got ya I don't think I'm gonna use a 5 ton pump anyway. There are better cheaper pumps out there then paying $225 for pump plus another $200 for a gear

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Mount what? Im in actually looking at doing a torque generator now instead of the idea I had before. I found one at a good price and they are very simple operation. A pump, reservior, pressure relief valve and the torque generator.

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

That is a great way to do it but I can't find them things anywhere.... I checked eBay and tried calling there number on the website to no avail. im gonna stick with my idea seems simple enough and probably cost a tad more the it would just buying the ross steering box.

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Why couldn't a 5 ton system be used with 14.00r20? All i see is the box is to big to be used with 53" tires..... Would they work with 49" tires? i can get a entire 5 ton setup for a good price from the guy I'm buying the truck from. Comes with everything pump (cummins pump) steering box...

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Yeah I can't see spending $2000 to $3000 for a kit that's crazy..... Yeah gimpy how did the control the cylinder. I couldn't seem to find to many threads on the assist setups besides the drag link valves I'd go the ross hf54 route I just can't seem to find one. There are a few places online...

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

That doesn't sound like a bad idea but sounds weak.

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

I could only find one post that said anything about something like this. Most posts where full hydraulic or the ross hf54 or saginaw swap.

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Ok I have been reading threads for a week or more now on power steering and have done my home work or atleast I think I have..... This will be one of the first mods I will do when I get my deuce in February. I have seen many different ways to do it from the drag link valves to the full steering...

    Hello From Reading Pa

I'm sure.... It sounds like a blast. My truck will be a daily driver per say, but mostly a hard core off road truck. Once I bob it and do some add ons like power steering and stuff I'm hoping to more extreme stuff off road. That's the whole reason I'm buying the truck, the are monsters and...

    Hello From Reading Pa

Just green trails? These trucks should be able to handle purple trails easily! I've seen stock rubicons on black trails, was a challenge but we did it..... maybe be once I make it up I could lead a more extreme group, it's been a few years since I've been to Rausch though need a refresher on trails
