"Sounds" like a bad day, I hope tomorrow goes better.
If your blowing bulbs check your grounds, install some star washers.
I hate it when I punch myself in the face.:D
If a hole were drilled it would have to be right on the edge and that cap is an inch thick.
But, the center hole in the cap where the plug goes through has no seal so i suppose if you kept that area loaded up with penetrating oil it would seep down to the corrosion in question, also you can look...
Sitting in the doorway of the Taj drinking something cold and its starting to rain(thanks OD), everything is now covered, i started early today working on getting the plug out of the hole so I could put everything away, I'm exsausted.
But good news it's out!
I didn't have access to a touch today...
The tm calls for pulling the entire swivel valve assembly up and out with a chain fall,
The 1/8th"thick triangler plate that bolts to the bottom of the swivel valve head Is a retainer plate, this plate rides in a groove on the swivel valve plug and keeps the valve head from lifting up and off of...
Thanks for everyone's support.
No success today for getting this thing apart, the swivel valve plug is still stuck in the pivot post, I did take the bolts out of the bearing cap which allows the cap to slide upward to meet the flange on the swivel valve plug, i can get some wedges between the...
Took the bearing cap loose, was able to move the cap around on valve plug, you guessed it, the valve plug is stuck in pivot post itself.
Back to the drawing board.
Just thinking, if the swivel valve plug won't seperate using conventional methods, i might have to pull the bearing cap along with the valve plug and use a press to seperate the two.
However, if the top pivot post bearing is tapered this won't work because the bearing will want to ramp out of...
Thanks doghead.
There's another example of the swivel valve exsploded view in the 34p tm, (i am unable to post it).
It's an example of how the valve itself comes apart.
In your example #24 is the swivel valve.
I'll keep y’all posted.
I was wondering if anyone here has taken apart one of these swivel valves? If I remove the bottom retainer plate will the entire head lift up and off the valve plug?
I realize this would have to be done with great care. It would give me access to the bottom portion of...
Went to move the crane the other day and blew one of the hydrolic hose that comes up through the floor and connects to the swing pump, fluid spraying everywhere! what a mess.
Both 50 year old swing pump hoses are badly rotted out and I'll have to replace several more.
This is to say the least...
I put desplined caps on my cargo deuce a couple of years ago and noticed a big differance immediately, unlocking the front axles from the hubs and stopping all that rotating mass eliminates a whole lot of vibration, noise, friction, and saves on wear and tear, it does make the deuce a little...
I like it!
The front bunk area looks to be very functional and a good use of space.
What are your plans for wiring for lights and accessories?
Will you be installing floor covering?
In my opinion, using a 12v lighting and accessories setup with (seperate from the truck)
House batteries for the...
