If it worked, then it was probably wired correctly.
That solenoid is really just an electromagnet. In a DC circuit, it will either "push" or "pull" the shaft in the middle of the coil. So, if it worked and engaged the starter to the flex plate, then it was wired correctly.

It is commonly done when people upgrade to a tilt steering column. Just make sure you get the intermittent wiper module on the column when you go the the pick and pull yard, otherwise they are expensive. I have not done this yet, but from reading threads here, it seem the wiper wiring connectors...
Just because the alternators were rebuilt doesn't mean they are working properly. You'll need to take voltage readings and see what they are really doing.
Replacing the GP relay shouldn't be related to the position of the ignition switch.
Do the other lights, GEN, Oil, Seat Belt, etc, come on before the Wait light when turning the ignition switch? If they all come on at about the same position in the rotation of the ignition switch cylinder...

Yes, there is, or was... the buzzer is above the fuse box as I recall. There should also be a "Fasten Seatbelt" light that comes on when you start the truck.
Hawkdawg, please read the fusible link sticky near the top of the CUCV forum... at the very least one or more are probably burned out. Some time with a voltmeter and the info in the fusible link post will probably show you where the problem is.

The small hose coming off the bottom of the fuel filter base is probably the drain, and is not connected to anything.

If the glow plug replacement was just disconnect each gp, take it out, put the new one in and reconnect it, with no other changes, then no, it should not have caused any problems.
