Tips On Importing Armor and other vehicles from Overseas...

Heres some hints that could be helpful....check the customs and state dept regs on import duty as well. Tanks and other off road vehicles don't have any normally but on road types may depending on date of manufacture. If you're buying something thats competing with US truck manufacturers than...

    BMP Air Starter System

Got straightened out by Marc a week or so back on the BMP filler port. Its inside the vehicle just behind the right hand periscope. We were looking outside....kind of silly of us looking back. Thanks Marc. Frank

    M936 battery setup for pickup?

Ah yes.....the old airbrake trick. I suppose I knew that but for some reason got a little overexcited. . .though of course air is a fluid. Frank

    M936 battery setup for pickup?

What are these trucks using for brake fluid. I know a lot of military stuff around airfields uses 5606 or 83282 hydraulic fluid. I'm guessing some of the trucks are using DOT 5 type brake fluid? Since there is such a difference in the fluid and the wrong one will kill the system it would help to...

    BMP Air Starter System

I've got to go with needing more than 90 psi as well. If the gauges in the BMP or T55 don't read at least 50 bar or Kg/cm sq the engine won't turn over. The gauges in these vehicles read either in Bar, Atmospheres or Kilograms per square centimeter. In any case the gauge reading of 150 is where...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

Thanks for the tip Robo. We've been trying for some time to get a T72 out of Cz but without much luck. Seems no one wants to get the paperwork done for US sales. Not sure what our plans are yet Neil. We well have a guide along and will probably hit some other stuff besides the W&P show. We're...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

As this will be our first time there at the show we'll be wandering aimlessly trying to find things. We may have a seasoned show vet with us though to help out. As for uniforms and gear I'm afraid all we've got is the tanker helmets from the BMP's and T55 and we'd probably be arrested by TSA if...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

In the US we are required to cut the receiver into 4 pieces with a torch and either torch cut the barrel into 3 pieces or drill holes in the chamber and 2 other critical locations. At that point its no longer considered to be a firearm (obviously) and it can be imported using the normal forms...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

I've been reading through the manual you have posted on your site and wow, its much more extensive than any we've got. We've been trying to figure out what switches, knobs and doodads are for and they're all in your manual where they were glossed over in the US army version. In fact, the US Army...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

Thanks Neil, I am aware of the cover for the preheater and how it works....the BPzV is slightly different since there isn't access to the floor next to the turret. It has the lever to open and close the preheater cover on the top armor just outside the turret. In any case I'd rather have more...

    Anyone have a BMP/OT-90?

I'd like to say that Neil has it pretty well covered and just add a few notes of my own. I'm helping AugDog take care of his BMP's and we have had to do a little work here and there. As Neil noted the front deck lifts up on hinges and allows access to almost the entire engine/drivetrain and...
