    M35A2 Transport vs. Drive

Welcome, old timer! It was 38 years from the time I drove them in the Army to when I sat in the driver’s seat of the one I won sight-unseen and the GL guy had to tell me what to do. I drove it 475 miles home solo towing my Bronco. There are a lot of safety things to consider, so use SEARCH...

    Help! recovering underpowered deuce

The torque spec’s are in the 400 FTLB range. First, there is no way I can think of to free a wheel in the back of a 6x6 without either having 2 jacks, or unbolting the drive shaft between the 2 axles, which isn’t a bad idea when you are about to road an unknown truck 900 mi. anyway. Try this...

    FDC bypass info (yes, again)

It looks like you are getting a lot of 1st hand info. I have been considering it and here is something I got off of this site some time ago, maybe it will add something:

a couple questions about the deuce

Ditto !! While driving my M109 home from Ft.Riley I went through Manhattan, KS in heavy afternoon traffic. I pulled into a turn lane with lots of head-on traffic and the brake pedal went “Clank” on the floorboards. I can still see the face of a guy driving a brand new Chevy PU; I think he popped...

    Military train in Temple Texas

Fourth Infantry (The Ivy Corps) on the move! I wonder if they are going on deployment or returning. Their equipment actually looks to be in real good shape; I would guess that they are going.

    End all powersteering mod

I have an M109A3 (currently my avatar) with no PS. I have converted several civilian trucks to PS, including the Bronco behind my deuce in the avatar. If I had the $750 for the kits that have been going around I would jump on it like a duck on a junebug. I scrapped out a '79 Ford F250 a...

    WTB MKT trailer unit

Ditto SCSG-G4 (Mike) has been very helpful in getting my trailer complete. Let me know what you decide to do about burners, when the time comes.

    New guy wanting a M35A2

Watch Ft. Riley, KS. Most Arkansas deuces go there. My M109A3 belonged to the Ark. NG and went to Iraq with them. Also, the folks at Ft. Riley are really customer oriented.

    euc time count weekends??

It does not include Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, days of the full moon or new moon, or days that coincide with the birthday of any president or famous military leader, such as Dwight Eisenhower or George C. Scott who portrayed Gen. Patton. “Battle Creek”, in the context of EUCs, is the...

Adding an extra axle to an M109A3

The first thing that occurs to me is that there isn’t very much “frozen terrain” near Florida, the address on your profile, so you must be planning to road it to get to your destination. The first problem you will find is that the cross-bar NDTs that usually come on an M109 are TERRIBLE on...

    105a2 found new home

The same trailer had a damaged relay valve and a bend in the frame from a fork lift. Another one that I got with that one had a bent jack crank and a damaged relay valve too. On a subsequent trip to Ft. Carson I told the guy about the underside damage and he just replied that they didn't have...

    105a2 found new home

Nice looking trailer. Do you see how the lip just behind the wheels on yours is bent down on both sides? I have one with very similar damage. I think that instead of using the tie-downs they throw a chain over them and boomer them down 'til something gives.

Like a proud father, waiting for delivery

Welcome to the 109 club. The only thing I see missing on your truck is the boarding ladder.

    Definitive M105A2 Recovery Thread?

A lot of this is probably a repeat, but here goes anyway. I have towed 3 M105A2 trailers from Ft.Carson to 20 mi. east of Denver with no problems. Two of them I towed behind my ’69 Bronco. An empty M105 weighs 2700 lb. By itself that is light enough to tow without active brakes. Just remember...

M332 Ammo Trailer - Before & After Pics

Can you tell me what you plan to use that trailer for? I was in the artillery in '68 - '69 and I never saw a trailer like that; when did they come into service and how were they used? Our 105's and our 155s both used 5 ton cargo trucks for ammo and our 8 inch SPs had a special track for ammo...

M109 brackets, what are they for???

Thanks for asking; I have been wondering too. I have always assumed they are for some sort of tarps and that is what I intend to use them for. What the heck are you guys talking about?

How easy is it to roll a deuce? Best tires without conversion kit for more speed/trac

At Reserve summer camp in Gillette, Wyo. the motor sgt sent me to the motorpool with a bumper number and told me to take it to the construction site. It turned out to be a 10 ton with a D8 loaded on a lowboy. I had seen them but never touched one before. I didn't role it, but I did role a 290...

recovered my new Pioneer Tool Traler

If they ran off of 24V I’d offer you something for them to put in my kitchen trailer! That is one cool trailer. If you get tired of it, PM me.
