Bid $60 on a GP lot. (The min) For an item I could swear had a 12/14 date.
Was told not high bid.
Got an email a week later the high bidder backed out, did I want to re-instate my bid.
Said yes. Was acknowledged as the high bidder by GP.
Just got the notification it sold and went to a higher...
So, while I wait for more free time I've been trying to see if I can think my way through this.
When I got the unit ~5 hours of run time ago, the oil level was correct and looked it looked good. But the fuel system had a lot of water in it. While bleeding the water out, I loosened the injector...
Got it indoors. And the cover off.
While there's no puddle of fuel near the injectors, one has a rust pool.
And there's a strong smell of diesel from the pumps.
And so ended my free time for today. :-x
So tomorrow I'll likely start to pull the pumps (one at a time) and see how they look.
I picked up a tank from these guys (http://www.preferred-mfg.com/products/pu/Fuel-Oil-Day-Tanks) at an auction. 80 gallons.
I can also pump it to my M923, so I figure it'll get used.
Spare fuel pump I was about to order for another project, so that's easy enough to get. Now I just need some concrete to cure so I can play Tetris with all my junk to get the 803 moved inside, since it's gonna rain for the next 6 months and I'd rather work on this indoors.
Ok, so I'm looking through the TM's, and I must be missing one, cause there doesn't seem to be a lot on diagnosing this. And I'm learning as I go, which has moments.
Drained the oil, got about 2.5 gallons out.
Power went out last night. Started the generator fine, went inside and about 20 minutes later the unit shuts down. Low oil pressure.
Check the oil, and it's not oil, the crankcase is full of fuel. So that's bad.
It's gonna be at least a week before I can get the thing into the garage to get...
Plan Leave The Two Working Batteries Running came to a screeching halt this afternoon.
8d's are heavy, and tomorrow I will need to fabricate a hold down bracket for them.
Well, the welder re-appeared last weekend after a 3 week trip in for repair.
So got one of the supports for under the bed put together:
Strangely, I don't have a picture of the other one. It was more complicated as it integrated the rear mudflat support angle iron.
And none of them...
Personally, getting an assurance that if you show up ready to haul you'll be able to get to the item and remove it with no need to hire "assistance" unless you need it would be more valuable than knowing exactly where the item is.
My method at figuring out costs:
1) What zip is the item in?
2)...
There have been some __stories__, which you have done a good job responding to, that my memory of is that some of those private companies have tried "Hey, sure we got your item. In our lot. No you can't drive into our lot, it's secured. (or) We've got the item so boxed in you'll never get it...
Well, fwiw, not all the lots are off base and have some crazy pickup shenanigans. The one near me is private and you pull up and grab your item. The locations aren't made public, because security.
Honestly, instead of skipping to the end game of "Give me an address!" I'd start with asking what...
