M376x6: I'm easy, what's it worth on the low end?
mkitchell: I have the cables that were on the trailer, but I'm going to keep them because I plan to modify the backing plate to work a parking brake.
M376x6: A 6x6 M37 I've got to see it! It that gov't built or a good after-market? Does...
At least it has a heater! I just figured out that the deuce I bought in July and have had in storage most of the time because I can't afford it right now doesn't have a heater!!
' Hope you have an understanding wife, if you're married.
PS search this site for info/advice on bypassing the Fuel...
I just finished cutting off the axle ends on an M101 trailer and welding on civilian hubs. I have some parts left over that I believe will fit an M37. Some parts were already gone such as both wheels and tires, one brake drum and the tongue. I have:
2 backing plates that I believe are the...
gringeltaube,
That is a very appealing looking installation. Did it require any cutting, etc on the frame? I can't picture in my head what mine looks like.
I'll try to get a shot of it. It's kinda hard to see if it isn't taken apart; it took me a while to figure out why the panel was loose. I have to go to the storage yard tomorrow, so I'll make sure I take a camera.
m-35tom, I saw the original post and would like to do something similar to my '66 Kaiser-Jeep deuce. You do nice work.
Question: Is there a box that will go inside the frame rails? I have been eyeing a junkyard to and from work with several old civilian trucks and intend to stop by some...
I gave my M101 to the guy that owns the flatbed and truck as a hauling fee. He is going to cut it lengthwise and narrow it so that it fits behind a '58 Jeep Wagon. He is going to remove the axle (parts available) and replace it with a civilian '5 on 5 1/2' bolt pattern. The tongue is missing...
I don't have the manual to cross the part numbers. I have 3 M105, 2 that I am keeping original and 1 that was severely salvaged when I got it. I have already pulled brake parts for a guy in Pueblo, CO and possibly have what you need. Does the bolt you are looking for look like the one in the...
I can't join you (lots of miles between us), but if someone has the opportunity to latch onto a couple of small items and send them to me, it would be appreciated greatly.
I have a '66 Kaiser-Jeep M109 (the one currently in my avatar). The panel on the right side that holds on the head light...
It probably has a dead pair of batterys because you can see in pic 5249466 that the auxillary power switch is on and pic 5249367 shows all the dash gauges hard left. That means that the dash gauges and low air pressure alarm (if it is still hooked up) have been pulling power since it was...
We had one of those in the 15th CEB in Vietnam. Once I was helping take the bull blade off of a D8 and we were all watching up front when the D8 operator backed it up. We heard a “Puff, Puff, Chug, Chug” and looked around to see the 10 ton heading for a row of M151s all by itself.
One of...
I can't imagine how a 105 battery would use those trailers; the ammo comes 2 rounds, less fuses, in a wooden box. The fuses came in ammo cans almost identical to our M-16 ball ammo. Those would be hard to haul in and out of those little trailers. What is that little door on the bottom-center...
I was with the 1/11th Field Arty and surveyed for the 1/84th Field Arty in '68-'69. We had 105s and 1/84 had 155s. I have never seen a trailer like that in service; we hauled our ammo in deuces. Are they post or pre Vietnam or were we just step children?
I read up on doing what you are about to do and asked the same question. The answer I got was that the loops are there simply to get the job done with no new parts. If you want to plug them, do it. That's the way I'm going to solve the same problem on my deuce.
RE: Re: RE: Bridge plate cover?
In '68 when we repainted our trucks and took off the white stars, the bridge plates got painted black lettering over green.
Part of getting a Colorado title, I am told, is to have its weight confirmed. Can anyone tell me what that's all about? I remember an old truck that my dad had in the late '50s that he had to pay "Ton-Mile" taxes on. Would it be to my advantabe if I lifted the bed off my M109 and had just the...
