Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Madsam, Sounds like an offer I can't refuse. Your wrecker is in MS? Does your route home pass anywhere near Ft. Riley which is 60 mi. west of Topeka, KS? I have some leeway in my schedule, and I think I will have the EUC either the end of Aug or early Sep. If Mapquest knows anything and...

    Packing bearings and checking Brakes

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Packing bearings and checking Brakes I found this in the PS Mag's: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?set_albumName=album11&id=ps311_p26_27_cork_seal&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

More great advice! I will make a long check list, starting with one from this forum, and including items like the latest form JR. It will be late Aug. or even Sep. before I go to get it. I will takes lots of photo (digital is cheap). I have driven old 4x4s for years and see the wisdom in...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

I'm amazed at the info I have gotten on this web site!! Having met you guys on the net, I hope I can shake your hands one day soon. Take a look at the link I included above and let me know what you think about a rally in Colorado in ’08. Yesterday I was 90% in favor of driving it home, now...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Thanks, the whole bunch of you!! I haven't had time to digest all this and all the cross references. I have been cruising the rest of this forum as I find time and am absolutely amazed at the comradery. I expect to get the EUC about the end of Aug. I have about 90% decided to go and drive it...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

The web info was very brief. They took the page off the web before I got all the pics copied. My avatar is the front shot. Where do I get filters and what are the part numbers?

"GREAT LIST " for picking up your Deuce!

I'm a first timer so I expect a wait on my EUC. THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE ABOVE!! I won a lowball bid on an M109A2 in Ft. Riley, KS the day before I got laid off. I couldn't get much info on it, which is why I lowballed it, so it is a big unkonwn. I don't even know what year it was mfg'd...

We need more Steel Soldiers rallies in 2007!

gimpyrobb, I like your little emoticon! By '08 I should have my Jeep J20 (formerly known as the Gladiator) reassembled. It is the origin of the M715 but has a better engine and a warmer cab. Can I join you M7xx guys? What to ask was getting a bit off topic for rallies, so I started a thread...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

I’m new to this site, but not to ugly trucks painted green. I did 2 tours in Vietnam, the first with a combat engineer battalion and the second with an artillery battalion. I drove several green targets over there, including one exactly like the Kaiser-Jeep M109A2 I will be taking delivery on...

We need more Steel Soldiers rallies in 2007!

WillWagner, A rally in Colorado in Nov. could be a problem unless it was in the plains in the east (what we call the Kansas laplands where Kansas laps into Colorado) or the desert in the Utah laplands to the west. The mountains start catching heavy snows in early Sept. and if you drive in, you...

This is a test to see if my new avatar came up.

We need more Steel Soldiers rallies in 2007!

I'm about to take ownership of an M109 shop van, as soon as the EUC is awarded and I can get it hauled to Denver, CO. Next I will have to pull an 'S' service on it to make sure that it is roadworthy. That will probably take 'til the snow flies, so maybe we can talk about a Colorado rally in '08...

    Tactical cargo beds

I have an M109A3 shop van at Ft. Riley, KS and need it hauled to Denver, CO, 500 mi. It is 11 ft. tall, so it has to go on a lowboy trailer. I'm offering $3.00/mi to a licensed, insured hauler. Those last requirements are negotiable.

Need HELP or advice on shipping vehicle!

All this advice sounds quite sound. I've rebuilt 4x4s for a few years and have a good idea what to expect. I once started out to road a '60 Willys 400 mi. from Utah to Denver but left it at my Dad's place half way. The steering on it was absolutely dangerous! Another time I drove a '76 IH...

Towbars in Oregon - look at this pic!

I could use a winch for a deuce, too.

Towbars in Oregon - look at this pic!

If you go through Denver, CO with a load of tow bars, toss one off the load for me. I just bought an M109 shop van and need to get it from Ft. Riley, KS to Denver, CO.

Need HELP or advice on shipping vehicle!

I am the proud new owner of a Kaiser M109A3 shop van, well almost. I have a glitch to take care of on the EUC, then I have to get if from Ft. Riley, KS to Denver, CO. This truck is exactly like one I got a speeding ticket in in the middle of a combat zone in Viet Nam in 1968, even the...
