    Humvee beadlock rubber runflat replacement

Looking at the Tire Rack website, they have the GoodYear Wrangler Enforcer MT tires in stock at about $810-865 each for load range D and E...

    Humvee beadlock rubber runflat replacement

With as much money as you've sunk into it, buying "roll the dice" tires seems kind of dumb to me. New old stock tires, 2018 or newer and 100% tread can be had for a full set shipped around $1500. You usually won't see any temp spikes right before failure unless you're doing something really...

    Humvee beadlock rubber runflat replacement

Looks like the chart in the -10 and the operations page show different rear pressures in sand.

    Humvee beadlock rubber runflat replacement

It really depends on how you have your truck set up. For a truck with a turret and other things installed that raise the center of gravity, then I would say they are a major benefit. If you're running a base truck with nothing else installed, you're a lot less likely to have a rollover...

    REV winch options

Going through the parts manual, it does look like they add a couple more brackets and a lower brace to what's already there. I don't have an REV truck so not sure about it all, but this is the only spot they appear in the parts manual.

    Batteries.... ?

Slightly longer answer, the specs above list it as max charging of 50a, and even the oldest HMMWV has at least a 60 amp alternator, and newer ones can have up to 400 amps. The starter is also going to draw more than 200a. That battery appears to be a deep cycle version, not a starting battery...

    Using thicker oil

In theory the 15W40 is thicker than the 30wt oil at higher temperatures, so not sure how that would increase oil pressure. I know on the oil Detroit 2 stroke diesels 15W40 would smoke and burn, where straight 40wt oil worked just fine. A straight 40wt or 20W50 would be the next step thicker...

    New-to-me M1097A2

The 1097A2 is a heavy variant M998A2, so the first set of TMs that include the M998 are the correct ones. This is the link to the TMs section of the site that has the manuals you are looking for, from the -10 operators manual to the -34 depot level repair manual. The majority of what you will...

NOOB. Looking for a little help joining the gang.

For parades and such, worst case scenario is you go buy a trip permit which allows you to drive it for a couple days. Only allowed to get them like 3 times in a year for a single vehicle, but used to be ( and might still be) that you could buy the permit at an office and "forget" to fill out...

NOOB. Looking for a little help joining the gang.

Part of the issue is that the M998 is the common base model, so it's what comes up when they start looking at HMMWVs. All the ones I know of that have been fine for years now are M1123s or M1097s, or a couple other variants that are NOT M998. I remember talking with someone back in 2019 when I...

    20kw Generator

So other than the aircon unit, what other loads do you have to power? Modern lighting is negligible if you have LED bulbs. Hot water tank, clothes dryer, oven, range, and other appliances, if you pay a little bit of attention, can all be run one at a time on a 5kw gen no problem. Not too...

    Oil Cooler Bypassed?

I think it's a bad idea. A search of the internet also says eliminating an oil cooler from a 6.5l diesel is a bad idea. The coolant really only cools the heads and cylinders. The oil is what keeps the lower end cooled. It's highly recommended everywhere I can find to keep the oil cooler to...

    Question about rear condensers

From the diagram in the parts manual, it looks like it splits off down at the frame area before the condensers, and then combine again right next to where it splits.

Advice for re-seal of differential output shafts

The early trucks mounting brackets for the differential interferes with the seal, which is why the differential has to be removed for the seals. There is a chance that it has been done before though, so check closely before removing to see if the bracket has been modified to clear the seal. If...

Brake switch malfunction causing TCC not to lock up.

If you don't have LED bulbs or assemblies in the rear, you'll want to get them. The switch doesn't seem to like the load from incandescent bulbs, so they fail much faster if using them.

    M1151/1152/1165 12v - Where is it?

12V should go from the regulator to the rear battery, then from the rear battery to the TCM. I wasn't aware of any 12V sources inside the cab area that are OEM, but I also don't have much experience with the newer trucks.

    air in fuel issues

Mine did the same basic thing (lack of power, and died when fuel filter drain opened) Installed new lift pump and that fixed it. I doubt it's the check valves as that would require near complete blockage, as that would keep the engine from getting any fuel at all, so it wouldn't run.

    My 4L80E trouble codes

Might consider getting AAA+ towing. Will tow 100 miles or 200 miles depending on what level you buy. I do believe that towing to the shop would be covered.

    Unidentified Unconnected wire behind engine

The M1097R1 is the reworked version, and can be an A1 or an A2 variant. He said his truck is an M1097A2, so not a reworked one. 1097 is just heavy variant.
