Well, from my wet kit the pressure line was a J-16 and the return was a J-12. All going into a valve w/ -10 ports. The bottom is from the pump. I do recall thinking how... un-optimal... it was for the pressure line to be the lowest spot on the vehicle.

Getting all those fittings on there is a form of Tetris.

They used to offer a frame rail mount that was cheaper. Might be worth inquiring.

Wanted to add a about 6" more headroom to the cover on my M923. Looked at dropping some 6" long boards down the bow support holes, but when I did it on the first set of bows it looked like the cover would then be inline with the exhaust. And I'd hate to melt a hole in a cover. Anyone done...

You're trying to calibrate against a military gauge... Realistically if you assume everything lies and the max deviation from truth for any one unit is 5%, the 10% the two will be off in the OP's case would more than alarm for real problem or bad gauge.

Yup. This thread convinced me to buy an IR gun. Got over the measure the temperature of everything quicker than I thought I would.

Finally fixed the oil pressure gauge. The connection to the sending unit was dirty enough that the gauge went straight to 120 on power up. Actually works now.

As a quick check, does the trans oil temp go up as quick? I'd expect the two to be fairly in sync... I know they're not super accurate, but the $15 IR guns on Amazon will likely get you in the ballpark. And yeah, you're gonna get a ton of junk out of the inspection plates, I recall what all...

I see where it was recommended, but I have to ask since I didn't see the results... Did you check the temp with a separate indicator just to be sure?
