Very nice. I, too, won an MEP-003A in the last round of auctions at Fort Drum. My EUC has cleared, and I'm waiting for another Steel Soldiers user to have his EUC clear - then we're splitting a load out of Drum.
I can hardly wait. Now I'll have a back-up to my back-up generator. Come to think...
I don't think you need to send them a drivers license photo more than once; I did so on my first EUC, and they never asked for it again. Once a valid license is on file, they seemed happy. In the next two purchases, I've only sent in the filled out EUCs - nothing more.
I understand what you're trying to say, Jeff - but I think we differ on the key point of asking them to handle an issue in a way that does not harm someone else that's already entered into a transaction (whether the item has just been photographed and listed, or actually sold).
If I asked them...
Understand - that's why I specifically stated you want parts of a truck that hasn't been listed yet if you're in a situation like this.
Edit - I stated 'not listed yet' in my first post, and neglicted to reiterate it in the post you quoted; I should have - because that's the key point here -...
Like any other form of gambling, the simple rule is not to risk more money than you can stand to loose if it all goes wrong. You could spend a lot of time previewing and still end up with a hidden failure that would cause you grief as soon as you got the truck.
The flip side of this is it...
Not to worry, you'll find another one.
My hint is to always try to handle this kind of thing at the 'local' GL level. If they can make it right without having to file paperwork with HQ, there's a chance it will work out. As soon as forms start-a-flying, then it's much less problem for them to...
That's exactly what they did - and from their perspective, it makes sense; they are not in the damage negotiation business - they just move surplus. The truck wasn't as stated, you called them on it, and it's much less problem for them to void the sale and sell the truck as-is to someone that...
I really don't understand it. Mine have taken 9, 7, and 3 working days, respectivly. I really expected a long delay on the first one - but they did it in short order.
Wonder if it has to do with how easy it is to check on someone's background? For instance, if you're an old timer like me...
When the foundation is doing rides out of Nashua, they fly a circuit out to the west that has them pass just to the north of my house, and then make a nice long sweeping 180 degree turn back to the east. They return to Nashua about one to two miles to my south, where I have a nice view of them...
Both GL and BC are doing a good job at the moment. I won an MEP-003A genset Thursday, filled out and faxed the EUC to GL Friday morning. Status changed to "sent to BC" Friday afternoon. I'm out at dinner tonight (Tuesday) and get an email indicating my paid-in-full invoice is ready for...
Where in the state are you? If you're in the South, you might want ot consider the truck I've got - but if you're up North taking a look at the ones Jim (nhdiesel) has got might be better.
Send me a PM with an email address and I'll give you the full run-down and some photos of the truck.
Hampy - what are you looking for WRT options and condition? Anything special - or just a run-o-the-mill deuce?
I've got one W/OW, NH title in-hand, that I'm likely to sell really soon.
I see you've got this listed as a 12V unit in your signature - but I believe it should be 28V. I'd use it as a portable battery charger for starting the deuce, or as an emergency charger to charge the battery on a bigger electrically started MEP plant. Might find some 24V bulbs to use it as a...
You folks have mentioned the limitations with the inexpensive collector insurance - they are indeed the limiting factors.
I checked Gulfway, and Hagarity; Gulfway has less restrictions, Hagarity had the most restrictions - including requiring it to be stored in a locked garage - but they were...
Understood, Jim. Only trouble is if you get turned down at the last minute or get a silly price, then you'll be in mad scramble mode to get coverage so you can pick up the truck.
Might be better to hash it out now and know it's a done deal. I got my temp plate and then went looking for...
Agree with many comments here; if you're going to be paying for it, might as well be paying for something that at least has a chance of paying off if needed. If the company doesn't know it's over 10K pounds and something happens, they won't pay.
When I was looking for insurance, I went over...
You can also make your own using nothing more than a roll of cork gasket material, an awl for tracing an outline and marking hole centers, a razor blade, and a six pack of beer. A six pack is required due to the amount of time it takes to do it - being careful not to slip and ruin your work -...
State Farm worked for me. I switched everything over to them once I found out they would cover my deuce - although I'm not using it for business, they have no restrictions on my personal use of it.
