Front is a pain in the ass. I removed the entire wheel hub/knuckle at the kingpin as to avoid having to take apart each wheel assembly. The manual recommends taking the wheel end assembly apart.
As far as i know the 4X4's all had the axle spring perch encorporated into the axle tube. The upper and lower U bolt brackets were separate pieces. It's the 6X6 that have the separate perches. #7 is the part in question.
The lmtv is too wide at the axle hubs by about an inch on each side to fit into a container. A flat rack is difficult to load as the truck is too wide to drive in. Barge service is the least expensive, but the truck is exposed to the ocean environment however most shipping companies will spray a...
The lmtv is too wide at the axle hubs by about an inch on each side to fit into a container. A flat rack is the only way to go. Also look into barge shipments.
The LMTV condenser is horribly inefficient, it it large in volume but has a pretty small area exposed to ambient air flow and is in a sub optimal position on the truck. It's also a tube and fin design which is one of the least desirable. A 1/2 thick parallel flow condenser mounted in front of...
The pulley (as supplied to the Govt) is made by Red Dot as is the rest of the A/C system.
There is a triple groove pulley listed in some of the CAT parts manuals. This might be an option is everything lines up. The back two grooves can run the alternator and the front groove can run the A/C.
Every truck I bought have been a non runner. One fired right up and drove on the trailer once it was jumped, another needed batteries and alot of cosmetics. My winch truck ran once it had new batts, but won't charge or go into reverse :(.
If the batts are older than 3-4 years they are likely dead. I've not been able to recondition any batteries older than that. The 24F work well, will fit in the box with a couple cable mods. You have to make a hold down though.
When top speed is gearing limited more power means you can get there quicker or maintain higher speed on inclines. The stock turbo is ridiculously small on the hot side. I wouldn't go higher than 290 on the stock turbo egt's get out of hand quickly. I've got an upgraded S300 on my rig, but I...
