    Question re: Half Shaft install

I believe that it's an adapter to go to the flare type seal from the pipe threads in the caliper body. (I believe it's pipe threads, might be some other type of seal, but pretty sure you need it to keep from leaking)

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I first read that as 46.25 oz of weights not 46 x 1/4oz weight and thought something was seriously wrong. 12 oz out of balance is a lot, but still within realistic amounts. As I said in my recent post, one of mine was 9 1/2 oz out of balance. Still, yikes.

    M998/HMMWV REPLACEMENT BATTERIES

The X2's are manufactured by NorthStar, which was purchased a few years back by EnerSys, which also owns the Odyssey brand battery as well. They are probably the single best battery manufacturer in North America. They are a big name in off grid and standby batteries, and I have no reservations...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

spray some soapy water to find out. Even a slow leak will generate bubbles. Better to verify that it actually is the O-ring leaking than do all the work only to find a pinhole in the tire or rim (unlikely, but not impossible)

    M998/HMMWV REPLACEMENT BATTERIES

one thing though, you don't want batteries that are any taller than the 6T series. Too tall and they don't fit properly under the seat base/battery box cover, and you increase the risk of shorting them out or damaging them. 6T is 9" high, so nothing taller than that.

    M998/HMMWV REPLACEMENT BATTERIES

I always tell people it depends on how you plan to use the truck. If it's going to stay pretty much always on roads and within cell phone/tow truck range, then run whatever you feel comfortable with. 650+CCA and a decent reserve capacity is all you need in all but the most extreme conditions...

Down the Rabbit Hole! My Chronicles of Buying a Surplus M1152A1. One Place For All Who Want to Know.

What I'm writing below this might come across as a little rude, which is not my intent, but sometimes it's just how to get a point across. From an outside viewpoint, you came in here, told the expert that has no reason why he should help you that his advice was wrong and that you know better...

Down the Rabbit Hole! My Chronicles of Buying a Surplus M1152A1. One Place For All Who Want to Know.

You sure it was a 400 amp that you had to lift out? The 200 amp generator weighs about 70 lbs. The 400 amp generator is over 110 lbs.

I have a couple of that holder. There is a larger 40mm ammo can that fits 3 wide on it, or 4 of the smaller 40mm cans

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

No pics for this repair, my hands were too dirty for most of it to want to touch my phone. So my right rear caliper was sticking when the parking brake was applied. Also the bracket that hold the caliper and mounts to the diff had loose bolts (this makes the third caliper bracket on this truck...

M1123A2 engine noise while traveling on highway.

if the max you can do is 49mph then either you're stuck in limp mode (2nd gear) or you have a power output issue. Does it feel like it's shifting gears at all?

    transmission reset

Looks like the manual reset breaker is 15 amp.

Not sure the actual weight, but it's also very awkward to handle. There should be a lifting eye in the top of it. Highly recommended you use some type of lifting device to remove it, and not try to just manhandle it.

    M1097R1 No start

It's not the question, it's how your attitude is coming across. It was a very simple question, "Are the batteries hooked up properly" You responded that you assume so. As pointed out, you assume it's good, so that must not be the issue. For those that have been on this site for years now...

    Jump Start Hmmwv?

Post number 9 in the below thread shows a picture of how I've jump started my truck from dual 12V battery packs in the past, as well as instructions. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/24-volt-harbor-freight-jump-starter.205755/#post-2395443

PCB, EESS, 3S, TSU, GPC... Try to figuer them out.

I haven't looked to see what box I actually have in mine. The wait light flashes for me every time no matter what. With batteries fully charged it's about 13 or 14 flashes. When batteries are low it's about 17 flashes. I have only replaced a couple of the glow plugs; enough that it would start...

PCB, EESS, 3S, TSU, GPC... Try to figuer them out.

Box is 24V only, so can only view the batteries as a single component; not two individual ones. My truck will still operate the glow plugs and attempt to crank, even if the voltage is a little low. Below about 23V my truck won't start as it can't overcome compression, but still tries...

Do the BFG Baja balance and are they round

I bought the Feltz Tire 2018+ 100% tread bajas and so far they are running perfectly. One was 9.5oz out of balance, and all the others were less than that, and all took at least 6 oz of weight to balance them out. Also running centramatics, 24 bolt staggered rims, and run flats. Part of the...

    Load Bank

If you can't find any real load banks, some of the military ECUs can often be found for relatively cheap. I know the 3 ton NordicAir ECU pulls right about 10kw on heat mode. If you go in and disable one heat coil on each phase it's around 6kw, so 2 of those would be about perfect (this is just...

What do I have, plus converting to 120v. New guy here.

Batteries are to act like a buffer for changes in power being used. Inverter on top of mechanical governed engine can't really respond fast enough to changes in the amount of load. As long as the batteries are capable of handling the charge/discharge, then you'd probably be fine. Bigger is...
