I have 2 M109A3's that have the new switches, took some button pushing but I figured out how to operate them. Would be interested as well, as to the proper operation of these switches.
Re: RE: Outer Axle Seal Key-piece Shearing Off
Thanks, I'm aware of that, was trying to make the point that if the nut is deformed/has sharp edges , it could be grabbing the seal and twisting it.
I hate deformed nuts.
And I did this exact repair/PM on one of my Deuces this last weekend, I...
Are there any burrs on the nut that are digging into the face of the seal and making it turn with the nut?
One of the trucks I got from Santa Fe looked like they used a chisel and hammer to loosen the wheel bearing nuts.
The problem I have had is the switch mounted on the accelerator pedal bracket under the dash not working, check it with a meter make sure it opens and closes (continuity) I'll go take a look at my 1009, but the stuff that goes through the firewall near the Vac pump is radio stuff, mine is unplugged.
I'm replacing one of mine today, I'll post some pics when I'm finished. I haven't heard of a specific tool for this but there may be one in the unit maintenance pub.
edit:
just looked, and the book does mention one, but it looks like a piece of pipe to me......
