That's likely the o ring that went bad on Goose. The bell housing kept filling with fluid so we'd drain it before a tour and she was fairly good about not leaving stains behind at a show. The joke started about "How much fluid does a bell housing hold on the M135 ".
I looked for a flywheel...
We so much appreciate the kind words fellas. She rides with us forever.
Using the trucks as a distraction is helpful and when someone needs parts, it makes it even better. I had a chance to peak at another 'take-out' engine that sat outside at a local wrecker for 40 years. I don't think we...
There is so much going on if I don't catch up with you folks we will all miss the boat. Check out the new Canadian museum info at the bottom.
These two are together again.
With the incredibly good humoured Grandmaster of the G749 farm passing away at the end of March in 2018, he set us up...
Can't offer much on the truck but I like Chevys and can welcome both you and the photos to the knowledge of Steel Soldiers. They'll all come along shortly to sort out what that beautiful 1 ton is. Welcome to the green, military or not.
The only other photo I could dig up of a 1 ton dually was...
We stepped out into the bush yesterday when temps finally broke the freezing point. It sure feels good to touch that steel again. Then the moon started rolling up the East horizon and I knew why I had the urge to get at it. Gravity.
What is the Master Cylinder set up like on that old girl...
I started digging for info today and what we know is the mlvw wheel market should see a lot of rubber soon. A pile of trucks went out to the public for scrap only. I was told the tires may start for as low as 100 CDN dollars per rubber and rim. I don't personally know the seller but I'll do what...
That's a pile of work done! Nice. I can almost smell the paint.
I stumbled on this picture in a file. Not sure where I got it but that's a snappy looking truck.
John Appel...... the first thing that came to mind is a crazy Canadian heading south and buying a truck off Appel down in PA. He then loads it with tires and a trailer, drives all the way back to Alberta to drop off 6 - 11:00 - 20's to me for $300.00 total....total.......seano11 did all that for...
Still leans...... dang it. You make it look easy and everything comes apart better the next time so, I look forward to watching you do it again in a while.
As for the munchkins, this dude gave me the tools to talk to the child and understand the child...
I started dating Goose the minute I saw her.....or him....it doesn't matter, we're in Canada. She was waiting in a yard for me. Another guy was with her but the minute I jumped in.....I knew I had to have her....or him.....it doesn't matter, we're in Canada. Right there on the dash, the only...
How does that work? Pain sucks. You probably missed out on the bionic man series where your wrists are platinum fused wrench twisting machines eh?
I have a foot with metal in it. Metatarsal stuff....... that's a cool name...metatarsal..... Anyway, we tend to migrate away from things that cause...
My buddy had one 'done' before he bought it from a truck nut above Memphis..... He was a clean fella so although capable of wrenching, he could afford not to do the pre-trip PM's. He drove it from the East side of the U.S. all the way to Alberta. Things can still go wrong that aren't foreseen...
Ahab, thank you. Most of the photos are selected from thousands of marginal pics. I just kept clicking with the decade old Olympus TG-619 camera, designed in Tokyo and made in China. There is a spin off from the education process here at SteelS with folks appreciating, front, side, rear...
I think we ....the green community....the MV iron mentalists, the Steel Soldiers, this special interest group will take responsibility for our problems.
With many MV enthusiasts just quietly doing our own thing.....they don't know we're out there! The public, politicians, veterans groups, our...
While we wait for this to get straightened out, here's a little Stony Plain parade video. For a decade we've shown up in Stony Plain with a cool range of 'publicly registered' MV's including a beautiful M923 all the way from the East coast U.S.A.
The M923 carried Canadian Veterans that found...
I was thinking about you in the Congo today Merle. Working in the boiling sun on hot aluminum and making sure things are just right would have been amazing. Then there's that part about "I wish I never sold my Deuce" that came to mind.
I know now that I am just making sure I hang on to certain...
Depending on which episode of the twi-light zone this is...... could be the one where China has taken over and they don't want us to own MV's. That would make sense.
It could be the episode where a small group North Americans got together and 'felt' this would be good for the health of the...
Larc V right? Do you have any links, pics or specifics on the engine? Manufacture years that might fit? We found crated take-outs for the 50's early deuce in a wrecking yard so renewing the hunt is always good. One never knows what we might find up here.
Best I've got right now is a pic of...
