Do you guys know why they might have ripped all the reset tags off a batch of auction gens? There are like 20 gens two per trailer power plants and all the reset tags have been torn off.
Well I tried a few more things. And again with it in my lap it was working. I went and attached it to the machine but with it out the tank if I rotated the float it has a spot where it drops out again (technically I guess it latches again) I could hear the relay click when I rotated it. After...
Well I finally decided to play with this a little more. I thought I had it figured out. I adjusted the top and bottom float stop positions and In my lap it was working perfectly. Then I put it in gnd tank and if I put it all the way down it still would act up but if I raised it inch it worked...
I did get this at least somewhat rebuilt. It is working and holds the gen for now. I couldn't fix the broken pieces of metal since they are cast but by straightening the bent pins it will hold for now as long as it doesn't take any shocks it should sit there fine and even adjust as needed...
Thanks a lot. I'm in the process of learning about these and knowing which parts to buy. I see you can very easily spend to much. Lol. I stole the water temp guage out of my 802 and did the recommend 30 minute run while watching the temp. I added a 35% load as a bonus though. It gets to 180...
Yes sir. Right now I'm still trying to figure out what all I need. Do you have recommendations based on what you see? Should l just replace the water pump too? Or maybe just buy a full gasket kit? I haven't been able to find just the water pump gaskets yet.
Update. After some reading and troubleshooting I'm pretty sure the water temp guage needs replaced. I'm still not sure the thermostat is opening or that the water pump is circulating water though. I did establish that the temp sender is sending. Maybe I never got it got enough to open and I...
So I know you've all been dying to know if the new 803A was going to run. I know I was. So the suspense was killing me and I had to know. I put a plug into the open hole where the petcock will go topped off the oil and filled the radiator. She started and ran and produced electricity. What a...
I did get this torn down. The pins were bent and the part the leg rides down on was pretty broken. It is cast metal so welding it isn't on the table. I straightened the pins and got it reassembled and working it just won't take a lot of weight . It's pretty easy to work on just roll pins. It's...
It's the M116A3 trailer. It's a drop down leg that's adjustable with a crank. I bought a harbor freight one that clamps onto the frame but I would really like to get it back to original but oh well. Thank you for taking time to help though.
I am really happy there are such awesome resources available both written and such a helpful community of knowledgeable people that are willing to help. I knew there were many reasons I wanted military gens both because they buy the best but also great documentation.
Well I look forward to any replies I get but I found it. Wrong book. It will be great once I know which book to look into depending on what I'm looking to find.
I have been looking through some of these TMs and they are awesome but I am struggling to find a good list of what is wired to where in this plug. I ran across one post where Guyfang told someone to test from pin.. to gnd and check the reading. I am not looking to solve a particular problem...
Thanks for the replies. I will get better at giving history and hours ect. I am newly addicted to these gens. I bid on two thinking I might get one but got them both. lol. So I have an 802A this one. it has 2165 hours and thats about all I know. I did give it an oil change when I got it a couple...
I load tested my 802 a bit. I put 15 amps on each phase with it set to 120/240 volt single phase. It held with no problem but as it got hot it seemed to increase. crank case pressure a bit. It wasn't like some of these I've seen where it looks like and oily exhaust pipe but when I took out the...
BTW thanks for the direction. I found the part in the TM and sourced one on ebay.
Awesome thank you. I took your advice and used the TM. Those things are awesome!!! I found the part number and ordered one off ebay. It's 1/4npt btw. Thanks again for the info.
